New Layout - Glitter Girls

Happy Sunday! I'm not looking forward to Monday. Lots of errands today and Dallas Children's Theater to see Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly. Love the Children's Theater. I did manage to squeeze in a layout today. This is of DD U5 Fall Soccer Team, the first season the "Glitter Girls" played together. This was when the girls were just 4 years old and still in preschool.

I played along with the Southern Girls Challenge to use stripes. Lots of stripes in this one, I even setup the name tags in a stripe configuration. There is the paper stripes, the star stripes, and the stripes in the soccer field.  I also played along with The Studio Challenges to use bows & tassels - ribbon, paper bows, tassels and fringing. I used ribbon bows that I tied to the ribbon strips and little tassel flags out of ribbon on the big photo on the right.

For this layout I used a paper kit from Crop-a-Latte and added thickers, tags from Park Lane, ink from CTMH and misc. brads from my stash.  I hope you've had a wonderful weekend!  Thanks so much for visiting my little blog.

New Layout -- Bluebonnets

Wow, the weekend is here again! I didn't get much crafting done this week, back at work and as busy as ever. I did finish up another soccer layout today. This one is from when Maddie was just 4 and part of the Bluebonnets team. She looks so little! I played along with Lasting Memories #452 Everyday Outdoor Activities.  What's more everyday than the constant of soccer games and practices!

Juan was also showing off some fancy footwork!

I used Stamping Station paper, cricut cartridges Artistry and Street Sign, a soccer title from Paper Wizard, stones from Queen & Co., and my really old Quickutz for the tags and girl labels. I hope you are having a crafty weekend!

Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Our Team

Happy Monday! I returned to work today, but wanted to share a soccer layout of DD I finished late last night. Hubby has been coaching her team for 8 seasons now. This is the team and individual photos from this season.

For the right side I used Sketches in Thyme #378. I don't usually use single photo sketches, but I think it worked perfect for these photos. Here is the sketch:

I used Stamping Station paper, CTMH stamp and ink, Jolee's stickers, Paper House stickers, Tim Holtz film strip ribbon, and random rub-ons from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting!

New Layout - School Rules

It's late, we should all be in bed; but I'm guessing I'm not the only one up still scrapping on a Saturday night! I finished a school layout for DD 1st grade class photo - it was really 3 classes, so I'm not sure why they called it a "class" photo. It took forever to figure out what all those little kids names were. I needed help from both DD and our neighbor. I included her Fall school photos and a smaller previous Spring school photo on the left side.

For this layout I used a Paper Wizard page kit, but mixed it up a little bit to work with my photos. I also added rub-ons from Fancy Pants and Memory Makers, stamps and ink from CTMH and random gems I had in my stash.

I hope you enjoyed, thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Oh Happy Day

One more post for today! There were a couple of challenges I really wanted to play along with, so I did. This layout is of our girls at our annual scrapbook weekend. They love those weekends and are the best of friends, including matching outfits.

First, I played along with CSI Case File No. 287. This one inspired me a lot! I used the color scheme, the "silliness" transparency, embossing paste as my wet medium for the arrows, lace, paper with an aged look, pile on lots of layers and tuck bits into the layers, used ink to outline edges of everything, and created banners. This was a fun one!

Here is the case file:

Second, for the right side of the layout I used the sketch from Sketch N Scrap #179

I used a ton of product for this layout: a paper kit from Paper Loft, sequins and ink from CTMH, bling from Queen & Co., Tim Holtz stencil, studio 490 embossing paste, stickers, epherma, and rub-ons from MME, ticket from Recollections, transparency word from Heidi Swapp. I hope you enjoy my little creation. Thanks so much for stopping by!

New Layout - Fun at the Museum

Friday Fun Night! I hope your weekend is off to a spectacular start, I know mine is. I finished yet another layout, this one about the Perot Museum. It was a pretty simple monochromatic theme from Treasure Box.

Thanks for visiting my little blog! I hope you get some scrappy time this weekend.

New Layout - Chemistry Camp

Happy Friday YALL! I hope you are planning a restful and relaxing weekend, I know I sure am. I found this adorable sticker set yesterday by Recollections and knew instantly that I wanted to use it for my DD Chemistry Camp last summer at the Perot. I don't usually scrapbook a specific camp as she attends too many, but this one we had lots of fun experiments that she brought home each day to show us.

I played along with Paper Issues June Take 5 challenge. I used the color red (chemistry title), the color blue (atom and journaling hexagons), hand journaling, a large title, layers, and circles (neutrons on the atom and the molecules). Join the fun over at Paper issues to play along. Here are the pick 5 items to play along with the challenge.

For this layout I went truly old school and dug out random patterned paper from my stash. I added CTMH ribbon, stamps and ink, old hexagon journaling blocks from jillibean soup, some old washi tape and of course, the stickers from Recollections. The large atom is cut on my cricut using cartridge "Nifty Fifties." I hope you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by!

New Layout - Tie-Dye

This is a personal record, three posts in one day! I completed this layout of our girls tie-dyeing t-shirts for the first time. Who knew it was so messy? They loved it though and the shirts turned out great.

I used Sketch #377 from Sketches in Thyme. I spread out the circles into a larger circle and added some extra photos along the exterior. I also converted it to a double page layout. I used a kit from Treasure Box.

Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful evening!

New Layout - Oreo Challenge

Second post of the day! Whoohoo, but alas I return to work on Monday and I'm sure my days of multiple layouts will be over. I just finished up this Oreo Challenge layout. Have you taken the Oreo Challenge? You place an oreo on your forehead and then, without using your hands, get it into your mouth by way of gravity. It's pretty funny, and pretty difficult. We ended up with a lot of oreos on the floor! Our daughters LOVED it!

I used another paper kit from Paper Loft and added oreo stickers from Recollections. I also used my AMAZING Selphy printer to print the tiny little photos in the photo strip. Anyone else have one of these babies? I LOVE IT and use it ALL THE TIME!

Thanks for visiting me!

New Layout - It's a Great Day

It's almost the weekend! Yeah! I've been working on a little bit of Pie Face inspiration this morning.  There is nothing like the squealing laughter of three little girls play Pie Face. At 6 and 7 years old, it is the perfect combination of messy and thrilling!

For this layout, I played along with Scrap Our Stash "June Saturday Cartoon Inspired Stash Challenge." I used the sketch for the right side of my layout and rotated it. I added a few more banners and the saying includes the "you".  You also needed to include the color yellow and (1) or more square embellishments. All of my "sayings" are square, well technically more rectangular but you get the idea. Hop on over to SOS and play along!

Here is the sketch:

I also played along with The Paper Girls Challenge #178 - Toys. The toy I used, obviously Pie Face game - the number #1 toy for 6 year old girls! Oh, how many times I have played this game. Check out the fun challenges over at The Paper Girls!

I used a Paper Loft paper kit and added the brads, arrows and journaling tags from my random stash. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by!

New Layout - Firefly Frenzy

Happy Hump Day! I spent most of the morning creating this fun firefly layout. I played along with the Southern Girls Challenge - Spots and Dots. This layout has plenty of both: the background is yellow dots, the firefly jar has dots for "air", I used white dots on the title "Frenzy", and there are dots for the traveling of the left firefly. I even used a date tag with hole (dots) around the edge.

These photos of DD get me every time; her first experience chasing and catching fireflies, something a recall vividly from my childhood at Grand Lake in the summers. It was so fun teaching my daughter how much fun it could be!

I used a super cute kit from Lickety Split Scrapbooks and added some really old stash tags! I hope you enjoyed, thanks for visiting

New Layout - Art

Happy Tuesday! I spent three hours today at the doctor for a follow-up from my surgery. All is well, I just need to slow down and let myself heal. What better way to do that then scrap - slowly! LOL!

Every year we take our girls to a girls "scrapbook" getaway. We always plan a ton of activities for them and now that they are getting older, it always involves lots of arts and crafts. I played along with Lasting Memories Challenge #450, to use vacation photos. Nothing like a mini-vacation and photos I really wanted to scrap! Head over to LM and play along - I'm sure you have some vacation photos somewhere needing scrapped!

I used a kit from Treasure Box. They are a monthly subscription service that provides (3) double page layouts a month. You have to do lots of inking, penwork and pop-dots, but the layouts are cute! I felt like being a little Artsy today. I added a title from Paper House and a couple of misc. journaling tags from my stash.  I hope you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by!

New Layout - Water War

My third post of the day; I think this is a record! This layout is of our sweet girls having a water fight at Bluebird last summer. They had a blast and I had a blast completing this layout.

I'm playing along with Lasting Memories #451 Challenge, use "summer" in the title. Come over and play along, it's pretty easy.

I used a paper kit from Down Memory Lane and added CTMH stamps and glitter pen, and Colorbok journaling tags. Have a wonderful evening and thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Life is Good

Wow, my second posting of the day! I'm on a roll. This layout is Father's day 2018 and my dear hubby. I played along with multiple challenges for this one.  First, I posted over at Paper Issues for their June "Dads are Rad" challenge. What's more Rad than Father's Day with your family? Next, I used the left side of the "Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge" over at Scrap Our Stash. I also used polka dot patterned paper and numbers (the measuring washi tape along the bottom) to comply with the challenge requirements.

Here is the sketch:

I used a paper kit from Paper Loft, brads and washi tape from Eyelet Outlet, and a really old arrow from I don't know where!

Thanks so much for visiting me. Hope you are getting your Scrap On!

New Layout - Keepin' Cool in the Pool

Happy Monday! We had severe storms again last night, but no more damage - so we are thankful. I'm still not fully recovered, so I'm resting and scrapping today. I finished this one up this morning, summer photos from a couple years ago of DD and her cousins.

I played along with Lasting Memories #449 challenge to use water photos! I also played along with CSI Case File No. 286. The scene screams summer water play to me. The title fits in perfect with the scene - Keepin' Cool in the Pool! I also used the following "traditional clues" including sun, clouds, wet medium (glitter pen), and summer accents. For the testimony, I documented our summer day, I used the inspiration words "relax, rock, and fly", and used a list of five things about the topic. Join the fun over at CSI and LM!

For this layout I used a kit from "Down Memory Lane", I just love their die-cuts. I also used a journaling block and glitter pen from CTMH and a date sticker from Simple Stories.

Have a wonderful scrappy week! Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Favorites for Fall

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful father's out there! We are celebrating today with a little bit of grilling - if the weather holds off.  I wanted to post this layout of our Fall Pumpkin Carving (2017), so still a bit behind, LOL.  I used a kit from Treasure Box! It's a monthly subscription and they send you 6 layouts a month. There is lots of inking and penwork, but they are always super cute. Check them out, and let them know I sent you.

I also added some ephemerma tags from Carta Bella and the date stickers from October Afternoon. I just love using up my stash - makes it justifiable to go buy more!  :)

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

New Layout - Glitter Girls Spring 2018

Happy Friday! The weekend is here, do you have big plans? I completed another Soccer layout today for the Glitter Girls. This was their Spring 2018 team. Maddie's not the best soccer player, but she tries and she likes being part of the team. Juan's such a great coach, that we've kept her in.

I played along with Sketch N Scrap and used their sketch #178 for the left side of my layout. I used paper from the Stampin Station, soccer ball border strip from jolee's boutique, soccer brads from Eyelet Outlet, Thickers, Paper Wizard soccer die-cut, simple stories SNaP date sticker, and misc. scrap paper. I'm happy with the final result.

Here is the sketch

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for popping by.

New Layouts - Soccer

Happy Thursday Yall!

I've been working on a couple of soccer layouts today - I only have about 50 more to complete. Any other sports mamas out there that have a huge stack of sports photos needing to be scrapped? Both these layouts I bought from Etsy! I recently realized scrapbook page kits were sold on Etsy, and some pretty cute ones at that!

The first layout is from The Rustic Giraffe. I added the journaling blocks from Basic Grey, the arrows, and the Thickers.

The second layout is from Memories Unlimited. I added a couple of tags from Snap, a journaling block from CTMH, and Thickers.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Authentic

Happy Tuesday - OUR POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED! YEAH!!!!! Three days without power has reiterated just how much we rely on electricity. There are still many without power, I pray their power will be quickly restored!

I finished a layout today for the Paper Issues "Boys will be Boys" challenge. This one is of Juan building our deck. It took him a few months, but turned out great and it has a built in raised bed planter and built in flower pots. Head over and check out the challenges at Paper Issues. I also played along with CSI Case File #285. They post three cases each month - stop by and play along!

Here is the case file:

and the traditional clues:

I used the color scheme with dominant blue, white, and grey and only black for journaling and the yellow for the construction sign. I used frames, labels, metal brads, a grid pattern background and the layout was something that involved our home - my hubby building a deck. Finally, I did my journaling on a tag that was book paper.

I used a Paper Loft kit, brads from the Eyelet Outlet, and misc stickers from CTMH.  Thank you for visiting!

New Layout - You & Daddy AND DALLAS STORM

Wow, I'm in Dallas and we got hit with a crazy "Microburst" storm yesterday. Winds in excess of 80 mph and hail bigger than golf balls. So much damage and we are still without power, as is many of the neighborhoods around me. A very scary thing to experience.

On to a more fun topic, I participated and posted over at Paper Issues for their June "Keep it Sketchy" challenge. Here is the sketch. I just love how this layout turned out! Even better, I used all scrap pieces from misc. kits!

I hope you have a fantastic Monday and if you were hit with the Dallas storm, I hope cleanup and construction goes well!

New Layout - This Life Today

Happy Sunday! I have a waaaaaay throwback page today to share. These photos are from 2012, when Maddie was only 5 months old. She was so little! I used a page kit from Embellish IT! and then modified it a bit.

I hope you are having a scrappy weekend.

New Layout - Girls Just want to have Fun

Happy Saturday! We spent a super fun day at the GASC in Arlington, Texas! My BFF Angie and her daughter Kayla joined Maddie and I. I bought a ton of scrappy goodness- too much. I finished this old Embellish IT! layout this evening of our trip to the GASC last year. I added the fun title from PaperWizard.

I hope you had an eventful and productive day.

New Layout - Off to See the Wizard

A second time today! Happy Friday friends. I finished another layout today that I wanted to share! This one is a page kit from PaperWizard. It is one of the monthly club kits that I belong to. The have the most detailed die-cuts in the industry! I added a journaling tag from CTMH and a few arrows from Recollections.

Maddie is obsessed right now with Harry Potter. We are reading the books each evening together. When I asked her if she wanted to make her classmate Valentine's or buy them, she of course chose make them (we always do); but this year she needed 46! She really wanted to make Harry Potter valentines and include jelly slugs, but they were $1.75 each! I told her no way I was making 46 as she usually makes about 15 and then gets bored or distracted and I end up finishing them. She promised she would make them all - AND SHE DID! Then we made her Valentine's box. I showed her how to  use mod podge for the first time. She added hinges and a metallic clasp. I cut a platform 9-3/4 sign for her from my cricut. She was so excited for her Valentine's school party! I love that she loves to be creative!

I hope you have a wonderful crafty weekend!

New Layout - Sprinkled with Love

Happy Friday yall! I finished this one last night, but failed to post it. This is another layout that I lifted from the very talented Shannon Baker over at StampinBuds. I saved this layout years ago when I saw it, because I just loved what she did with the donuts. I had very little CTMH Sugar Rush kit left, so I had to tweak quite a bit - but I'm happy with the results.

I used the cricut cartridge Artistry, the remaining Sugar Rush kit, CTMH stamps, inks and papers. I hope you enjoy your Friday - I'm heading out to the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington tomorrow! So excited

New Layout - I'll Hold You in My Heart

Happy Wednesday to everyone! I scrapbooked a very solemn event today, my father-in-laws passing. He had been deteriorating for a couple years and didn't know anyone, wasn't verbal, and couldn't walk or take care of himself so he is undeniably in a better place. He has helped my mother-in-law care for my daughter since she was 3 months old and I returned to work. They've lived with us for the last few years, so he was an integral part of my daughters life. His death hit her hard. She sat on the kneeling pew at his side for over an hour during the viewing. She didn't want to leave that spot and drew him pictures and left him notes. After mass, when they loaded his body into the hearse, she stood behind the hearse and wouldn't leave. She's called him "Juito" since she was a baby and couldn't say "Abuelito" (grandfather). It was hard to scrapbook this, but I'm glad I did and that we will always remember and love him until we are together again!

The inspiration to scrap this non-happy event came from the Paper Issues challenge "June Gloom." We scrap the fun and the happy, but shouldn't we also scrap the hard life lessons as well?

I used a kit from embellish IT!. If you are looking for a monthly club kit, this one's a winner! Let them know I referred you!

New Layout - You Are Sweet

Happy Tuesday! I hope you are getting a chance to be crafty this week. I spent most of the day recreating a layout I saw on Shannon Baker's blog StampinBuds a couple of years ago. It was designed with the CTMH Sugar Rush pack which is no longer available. I had just a bit of scraps left from the kit layout, and I was determined to create this layout with the left overs. It uses the Cricut cartridge "Artistry" and is just sooooo adorable! I have lots of popsicle photos, but I really wanted ice cream cones for this layout. My daughter's Basketball team end of the season event was at Braum's, so it was the perfect event for this layout!

I posted it over at Paper Issues for their "Super Sundae" challenge. Head over and take a look at all the fun summer layouts!

In addition to the CTMH paper, embellishments, stamps, and ink, I added some emphemera from Fancy Pants, jems, twine, and the Artistry Cricut cartridge.  I hope you enjoyed my creation!

New Layout - Our Little Graduate

Happy Monday! I finished an oldie, but goodie layout today. This one is from Maddie's preschool graduation in 2017! I'm so glad it's finally complete. I posted it over at Paper Issues for their "Crowning Achievement" Challenge. Feel free to check out all their fun monthly challenges. For this layout I used a page kit from Down Memory Lane, but I added a ton more photos. I just can't seem to scrap a layout with only 3-4 photos! I still plan to add the names of her classmates under the main photo, but I have to figure out their names first; that's what happens when you wait 2 years to scrap an event!

I'm recovering from surgery, so I'm getting all sorts of crafting done. Making lemonade from lemons :)  Are you scrapping on your Monday? Have a wonderful day!

New Layout - Hello Summer

I created a fun summer layout today with of my daughter and her cousins at the amazing Children's Adventure Park in the Arboretum. They have so much fun every time we go! I posted this over at Paper Issues for their Free File - Free for All challenge.  For this challenge you are to incorporate one of their FREE cut files. I used the negative strip and "Life in Pictures" quote from the Life in Pictures Free Cut File

Life In Pictures Free Cut File
I used a paper kit from Paper Loft and added some ephermera from Fancy Pants. Ink is from CTMH.
