Project Life - Week 22

Welcome to Project Life 2015! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 3 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins.

I am using a digital kit on Shutterfly. This digital version is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly - Project Life Turquoise Edition HERE and my 2013 album using the Shutterfly - Project Life Childhood - Mayfield Edition HERE I will hopefully be posting my 2014 pages soon.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Sunday - Our little green bean vines have grown out of control and clear up to the top of the 6' poles. Maddie and I harvest about 75 green beans this morning from the garden.

Our little girl has such an awesome personality! Today at lunch Juan took this picture of her and sent it to me. I told her she could wear one necklace and one bracelet from my jewelry box this morning. She obviously found a "few" more things and was having a blast playing "dress up!" This evening Maddie and I played Monkeys in a Barrel. She loves games right now, although her attention span usually only lasts for one or two games before she gets too silly to play.

Thanks for visiting!

Project Life - Week 21

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Saturday - We headed out to Six Flags over Texas this morning. Maddie had so much fun last year that we decided to get season passes for this year. It was a cloudy, rainy day; but we still had fun. We only stayed for a couple of hours, but Maddie rode plenty of rides and had her face painted. She loved the Tazmanian Devil Tornado swings and the Tea Cups. It was the first time she's rode the Tea Cups and she wanted to ride them again and again. How she can spin that much without getting sick, I will never know.

Monday - I had the day off work for Memorial Day, but Vanessa had to work so Mom and I took all three kiddos to the Dallas Zoo. They are having a special "Giants of the Jurassic" exhibit with life sized mechanical dinosaurs. We didn't make it to the dinosaur exhibit though. We started in the "Giants of Savanna" and at the zebra/giraffe/antelope/deer area. The kids were standing on a bench watching the animals. It was wet from all the rain and Jakob turned to jump down from the bench and slipped, breaking his arm. We ended up at the Methodist Dallas ER. Nana stayed with Jakob for the XRays and I took the girls home with me. Poor little guy! We were not even at the zoo for 30 minutes. They had a photographer there and I was disappointed that we didn't get to see the photos taken of us. The zoo was amazing and later sent us copies in the mail of the pictures. They also gave Jakob an entire set of dinosaur cards.

Tuesday - Juan and I went to Al Biernet's for lunch - delicious! It's been a long time since we have been there and we treater ourselves. I LOVE their corn chowder, YUMMY.

Wednesday - Today was Maddie's last day of school at Ascension. The first photo is Maddie with Mrs. Miriam her 3's class teacher on Mondays and Wednesdays. She is standing with her little class: Stiles, Matthew, Mrs. Miriam, Maddie, and Sloan. They also had an assistant, Mrs. Chantal. On Tuesdays and Thursdays Maddie was in Mrs. Jackie and Mrs. Lisa's 2's class. Her class included: Matthew, SLoan, Mariah, Grace, Conner, Evelyn, Clara, Palmer, Campbell, and Maddie (four boys and the rest girls)! The last photo is with Maddie and her best friend Sloan. She talks about Sloan all the time and tells us Sloan is her best friend. I believe Maddie has a love/hate relationship with Matthew. She always talks about how he cries, but then she is sad when he is not at school.

Project Life - Week 20

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Thursday - Maddie's school had "Back to the Future" day today. They all got to go check out their class for next year. Of course Maddie already goes to the 3's class two days this year, but she still liked hearing the things they were going to get to do next year.

Saturday - Our weekly ritual of grocery shopping at Kroger. I had no idea that Maddie was taking these photos while riding in the buggy. I love the surprise photos I randomly find on my phone!  Also today we were outside in the sun and Maddie said, "Mama you need to touch my hair! I think there's something going on with it!"  Me: "There is? What?"  Maddie:  "It's really hot!"

Sunday - Ascension posted this photo of Maddie on Facebook today. I love that they take photos of the kids during their classes so we can see what they are learning. Maddie told me she was making playdough cookies.

Monday - Shannon and I picked Maddie up from school today and went to get frozen yogurt at Yummilicious and then headed to Central Market to get bread for dinner. In the meat department, one of the workers gave Maddie a cold cocktail shrimp to taste. She was a bit weary, but I told her it tasted like chicken and she tried it. She loved it and asked if she could have another one! I love that my girl will try almost anything. I also love that no matter what sort of meat we are eating for dinner (steak, hamburger, pork) she always says "yummy - chicken"!

Wednesday - School is almost out and today was Splash Day. Apparently Maddie dumped an entire bucket of water on Mrs. Jackie's head. It looks like they all had a blast. That is Maddie in the yellow/green shirt with pink hat.
