New Layout - Smile, Sparkle, Shine

Happy Saturday my scrappy friends!

I started the day with a 10 mile bike-ride, which felt great! I've spent the remainder of the morning creating this layout of DD brushing her teeth. We thought it was so important to teach her early the importance of taking care of her teeth. She was only 16 months in these photos and only had 8 teeth!

I played along wtih The Paper Girls Challenge - Stars and Stripes challenge #203. I used the background cardstock for my stripes and the star bursts for my stars.

I used a kit from Out on a Limb and added lots of ink, dots & dashes and water colors to conver the boy in the kit to my little girl. I used my cricut to cut "girl hair" and added stickles to the star brights. I also added a journaling block from my stash, a date sticker from 7Gypsies and phrase stickers from Bella Blvd.

New Layout - Parade & Carnival

Happy day to all my scrappy friends!

Today I am excited to share that I am a Special Investigator (Guest Designer) over at C.S.I. I just love all the amazing creations this design team and community create. I hope you sneak over and check out their "investigations" and "solve" one for yourself!

This is my take on  Case File No. 325 for July! I used the scene and the scheme to solve the case. I used all the colors (rusty red, pale gray, muted navy, cream, and black throughout my layout. My evidence included: stripes (the banner, the ribbon and the flag), stars (everywhere), wood grain pattern background paper, 4th of July themed elements, a jar (sticker with flowers), flowers (on the banner and sticker layers, flags/banners, ribbon (white and blue striped), distressing (ink on the cardstock), circular elements (little star circles and celebrate sticker), and transparent element (journaling block). For my testimony I documented the 4th of July and added stars to my journaling block.  Join us this month for any of the 3 cases!

Here is the case file:

To create this layout I used the June double page sketch from Stick it Down. It worked great with my theme, photos and layout. I was able to get a ton of photos on this page. There was so much I wanted to docuemnt and remember.

To create this page I used: paper from Paper Pizzaz, stickers from Echo Park, twine from the Twinery, stamps and ink from CTMH, transparency from Lime Twist MME, and misc. ribbon from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you remain safe and healthy during these uncertain times.

New Layout - All Aboard

Happy day to all my scrappy friends!

Today I am excited to share that I am a Special Investigator (Guest Designer) over at C.S.I. I just love all the amazing creations this design team and community create. I hope you sneak over and check out their "investigations" and "solve" one for yourself!

This is my take on  Case File No. 326 for July! I used the scene and scheme to solve the case. I started with older K&Company and Creative Memories papers that match the colors in the scene, yellow, green, and gold throughout my layout. My product cluese included: older papers, textured/embossed papers (the word paper has embossed gold text), I used metal accents (the metal quote and the metal rims that resemble railroad crossing signs), I used ribbon along the bottom of the textured word paper, I used stick-pins for the poles of my signs, I used very old Reminisce rub-ons that I was surprised still worked so well (the signs, the title, the "on track", and the all aboard), I used never used stamps for the arrow banner/tag at the top on either side of my "all aboard" rub-on, and I used the magic number 4 (4 photos). For my Design Clues I used a stamped banner for my little "all aboard" title at the top. I also used the Scene as inspiration to compose my layout. I created layering of photos, paper, ribbon and other elements set on top other elements to mimic the stacking of the candy jars and books.  I hope you'll join us this month for any of the 3 cases!

Here is the case file:

I also played along with Paper Issues July challenge - Happy Fourth - 1,2,3...4, in honor of the 4th of July, create a layout with four photos.

To create this page I used: paper K&Company and Creative Memories, rub-ons from Reminisce, stamps and ink from CTMH, a misc. die-cut and journaling block from my stash, and misc. ribbon/metal accessories from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you remain safe and healthy during these uncertain times.

New Layout - Bedtime Story

Happy Sunday,

Another day in isolation... the days sure seem to run together. I did finish another page today, but seems like it took me all day.

This is of my dear sweet daughter when she was just 19 months old. We read to her every single night as part of her bedtime routine from infancy to well into grade school. I believe that fostered her love for reading and helped her read before Kindergarten.

I played along with Paper Issues July 1st sketch:

For this layout I started with white cardstock and added punched border strips using a Martha Stewart punch, a die cut from Petticoat Parlor, alpha thickers from American Crafts, and ink/stamps from CTMH.

Thanks for visiting! Happy start to another week.

New Layout - Finger Painting

Happy Saturday from super hot Texas,

It's over a hundred here and sweltering. I'm staying in the air conditioning and scrapping away. This layout is of my daughter and niece/nephew all finger painting over at my mother's house a long time ago. They were so little!

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues July challenge Streaks and Stipes. This challenge is to pull out some paint, watercolors or ink and paint some streaks or stripes on your project. I used my CTMH watercolors (LOVE LOVE these) to create my background.  I really like how this one turned out.

I also used my cricut for the paint brush title, twine from the Twinery, ink and stamps from CTMH, enamel dots from CTMH, alphabets from Quikcutz, a dimensional hand sticker from Jolee's boutique, and a chipboard heart from Simple Stories.

For this layout I used really old paper from All My Memories, a title from Paper Wizard, stamps and ink from CTMH, and sequins from CraftMedley. This page was fairly simple, but I like how it turned out.

New Layout - Friends

It's me again!

I'm here to share a layout of DD and her neighbor friend enjoying the summer with a mini-pool and popsicles.

I played along with Paper Issues July challenge - Make a SplashNot only is the challenge to scrap about a trip to the ocean, lake or pool but to use watercolors or other wet media on your project. I used mousse from Nuvo and a stencil from The Crafters Workshop. I also used ink from CTMH for lots of inking on the diecuts.

For this layout, I used a kit from GoToTreasureBox and modified it to suit my photos. I added chipboard from Simple Stories, alphabet stickers from Bella Blvd, date sticker from 7Gypsies, and my crimper for the popsicle sticks and green grass.

New Layout - A World Under the Sea

Happy day my fellow crafters,

I'm trying to scrap, but getting interrupted A LOT! Do you ever have that issue?

This is a sweet aquarium layout from photos way back in 2014. It feels good to get all these oldies finally in an album!

I played along with Paper Issues July challenge "Shell Yeah", layouts all about the beach trips and seashells. My layout is our trip to the aquarium. It's not at the ocean, but is definitely sea life and shells in abundance, just still attached to their living creatures!

For this layout I used a kit from Crop-A-Latte and added chipboard from Maya Roads, hinges from CTMH, stamps and ink from CTMH, and misc. letter stickers from my stash. I used the hinges to create a flap to add more photos from our day.

New Layout - Goodbye Mia

Hello all,

I'm scrapping away. With the loss of our friend David Winfrey, I was feeling blue and thought it was a good time to finally scrap the loss of our fur-baby, Mia. We adopted her from the SPCA in 2007 as a puppy. She was a mixed mutt, but was an amazing protector and loving friend. It was a very hard day for us all.

I played along with More than Words July Challenge - Goodbye & Monochromatic.

Word Inspiration - GOODBYE
Creative Challenge - MONOCHROMATIC

I used blue for my monochromatic theme and used Goodbye in my title. It was a sad day that I've been avoiding scrapbooking. This challenged helped me finally get the memory recorded and let the tears flow.

I also played along wtih Archi-Scraps July challenge Art Deco

This one was difficult and I tried my best to add Art Deco to my layout. I used Fleur-de-Lis background paper, ribbon that mimic's fans, arches in the title "Family", pearls and metal in the "O", and pearl  arch shape in the top left corner.

For this layout I used paper from chatterboxinc.com, stud from Prima, glitter dots from SEI, pearls from Prima, blue bling from Heidi Swapp, stickers from Bella Blvd, title and jounaling block from MME, letter stickers from October Afternoon, label sticker from MME, stamps and ink from CTMH, quickutz, and misc. ribbon and arrow from my stash.

New Layout - We are not just a Family

Happy Monday to all my scrappy friends,

I'm taking the week off work for a Staycation, since our real vacation was cancelled due to CoVID. I hope to get a bunch of scrapping done. Started out slow today.

This layout is of DD and her cousinds over at Nana's house. There's nothing better than Nana's house with Cousins! They love all her different toys and playing with each other.

I played along with Scrap Our Stash July 2020 "Pick Your Word". Pick a word from the art work below and use it on your layout. Then you must add a stash item that starts with each letter of the word you picked.

I picked the word FAMILY:
F - Frame
A - Ampersand
M - Making Memories quote
I - Inked edges, In Stitch'z template and twine
L - Layers
Y - Yellow

For this layout I used a kit from PaperLoft, Dragonflies Cabochons from Jolee's boutique, In Stitch'z by Bazzill, and stamps and ink from CTMH.

I also played along with Paper Issues July Freedom of Peach challenge. Show us your projects that are patriotic or feature 4th of July activities or even feature the color peach/orange. I was inspired by the color peach/orange and used that as my main focal color for my page.
