New Layout - ASI

It's almost Friday!......again.........'nough said?

I am trying to play along with Paper Issues 30 days of sketches, but I am so NOT a single page girl.  I do, however, have multiple single pages that I need to create for the front and back of my scrapbooks.

This layout is of my dear daughter at Gymnastics. She was enrolled in weekly gymnastics for YEARS - literally, and loved it; but never did manage to master a cartwheel! :)

I used the Paper Issues StaySketchy challenge sketch #14 below. If you are feeling the walls close in, come play along and create!

I used paper, buttons, enamel punctuation, tiny word stickers, and journaling block from MME Cut & Paste line. I used Pink Paislee chipboard alphabets, stone stickers from Angels Craft, and thickers from American Crafts.

Have a wonderful afternoon and thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Swim Lessons

It's me again! I'm so thrilled to be completing so many pages - on positive outcome of COVID-19.  I facetimed with my sister this evening, and it was great to "see" her.

This layout is of Maddie at swim lessons in our neighborhood back in 2016. She so loved, and still does, water!

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April Challenge - Heavy Metal. This challenge is to get inspired to document your concert experience or use metal (a brad, clip, bobby pin, safety pin or even a piece of jewelry). I used a metal sun, and many, many metal brads - the little splashes are all brads.

I used a paper kit from Out on a Limb and added journaling stickers from Kelly Panacci, ink and stamps from CTMH, and misc. brads.

Thanks for stopping by, jump over and play along!

New Layout - Coronovirus Week 2

Happy Tuesday Yall!  I received my Paper Wizard kit this month and had to immediately complete the Coronovirus layout.  It was perfect for our 2nd week in the "Rona".  I wanted to get this documented immediately as things changed so much those first weeks.

I played along with Paper Issues April Challenge My Corona Survival GuideFor this challenge, they'd love to see paper projects that tell your story about dealing with COVID-19. Think outside the box. Maybe your story is about a new dynamic like teaching or working from home or about how much more cooking you’re doing with everyone home. Maybe you create a layout about how your pets are the only ones with whom social distancing would never apply! You do you. We want to see it! Let’s inspire each other, even if it’s from a distance!

I wanted to capture the general feeling and changes in our world that seemed to happen so fast. Juan and I started working from home (14 hours a day), homeschooling my daughter, food delivery issues, toilet paper shortage, no friends or family, everything closed. Zoom and messenger kids, unbeknownst to use pre-COVID, became our lifelines. Such a crazy time.

As I mentioned, I used the new PKC Paper Wizard kit, but I added tags from myartc, brads, and stamps and ink from CTMH.  Take time to scrap the present; come join in the challenge.

New Layout - Easter Egg Hunt

Here is a page I completed for DD Easter Egg Hunt at her sweet little preschool about 4 years ago.

I played along with Paper Issues April Challenge - Keep it Sketchy. Here is the sketch.

I used MME paper, brads, and washi tape. I used Nuvo Mousse and a stencil from Tim Holtz for the background, a spritz from Maya Road, and a title from Jolee's. DD also made a Diamond Dotz sticker bunny to add to the journaling tag.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Layout - My Birthday

Happy Sunday! It was a beautiful day in Dallas. Our amazing Pastor gave an awesome sermon that I very much needed to hear, Dear Hubby grilled some delicious dinner for us, and I got to scrap virtually with my 2 best friends! It was a pretty wonderful day.

Part of all my virtual scrappin' helped me complete this layout of my 41st birthday. It was very low key, but super sweet with my darling daughter and husband. I usually post my layouts with photos, but this time DD was not dressed so I've blurred her out completely.

I played along with Paper Issues 30 Days of Sketches - Day 8 for the left side of my layout. Here is the sketch, stop on over and play along!

I used a kit from GoToTreasureBox.com I modified it to work with my photos and created a card pocket on the right. I used ric rack from Wrights, love ephemera from MME, arrows from Eyelet Outlet, and my favorite white pen from Uni-ball Signo.

Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Water Garden

Happy Saturday my scrappy friends! Maddie joined in a virtual campfire for a sing-a-long with her Girl Scout Service Unit this evening. So stinkin' cute.

I wrapped up a page today of dear daughter when she was just 2-1/2 years old at the Fort Worth Water Gardens.  I love these photos! I played along with Paper Issues April challenge Monochromatic Fanatic. This challenge was to use this monochromatic challenge to inspire your creativity. Stick with an all yellow palette while minimizing other colors. I added just a hint of blue ink on the clouds to tie them into the photos. Otherwise, I used all yellow/gold colors on my layout.

I really love how this page turned out. I started with a kit from Gototreasurebox.com and added Bo Bunny wooden shapes that I painted gold with Folk Art bright gold. I used tags, journaling and epherma from CocoaDaisy; ink, sequins, and stamps from CTMH, and misc. ribbon.

Happy Scrapping! Be well!

New Layout - From 4 Wheels to 2

Happy Hump Day! Another week half over, I just don't understand why time seems to go some much quicker under quarentine. We are hunkered down and staying isolated. I little bit of stir crazy may be in affect.

I finished a layout late this evening. This is of DD learning to ride her bike without training wheels. Such a major milestone. She was so proud of herself!

I played along with a couple of fun challenges for this layout.  First, I played along with CSI Case File No. 317. I solved this case solidly! I used the color scheme, although mine ended up more orangey-red than pink; but there is plenty of pink in the photos. From the scene I used an older paper kit from SEI. For product clues I used ribbon, stickers, die cuts, a bicycle, and a a "girly" collection. For design clues I had multiple elements cascading down or floating up my page, including circles, hearts, and butterflies. I also used circle design elements and I create movement with pen dots at the butterflies, a wavy sticker with ribbon that looks like it is flying, and movement with my photos as my daughter physically moved down the street.  Here is the case file:

I also played along with Paper Issues April challenge Take 5.  This month's Take 5 was:

I used the right side of my layout for this challenge: blue, grey, butterflies, journaling, and 2 photos.  Come over to CSI or Paper Issues and play along!

In addition to using SEI, I used arrow from Recollections, alphabets from Authentique, and October Afternoon, and butterflies from Jenni Bowlin.

Have a wonderful remainder of your week and stay safe.

New Layout - Pie Face

Happy Sunday! So I spend most of the day scrapbooking, but I only finished this one layout!  Uggggg.  How did I spend the entire day on it?

This is a super fun layout of one of the games we often play, Pie Face.  I think these photos are from the first time we played it. You put whipped cream on the hand, spin the wheel and then have to rotate the hands the number of times the spinner landed on. The hand will randomly let go and smack you in the face with the whipped cream. It's a pretty funny game that 5 year olds love - actually Maddie still loves it at 8! My niece would not play with us as she was too scared; but Jakob loved playing with us.

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April challenge - A Pizza the PieDo you love Pizza? How about use a pie chart in your design or tell us about your favorite pie? You can do it!

I used a pie chart and my photos were perfect - Pie Face! I used the new CTMH Blue Skies workshop.

Here's a wonderful start to another week of isolation. Stay safe and stay home!

New Layout - Bunny Bait

Good Morning! It's supper early, but I finished another layout that I wanted to share.  This one is of my dear daughter and her Easter treats for her preschool class. I helped her make Bunny Bait - it is reece's peanut butter eggs, pretzels, and mini-marshmallows. She also made a little jelly bean take home gift for each classmate. She loves making treats and passing them out to all her friends.

Paper Issues is hosting 30 days of Sketches right now! This Day 2 sketch by DT member Cassie Jr. Drop on over and play along! Here is the sketch:

I used paper, washi tape, enamel dots, and bits & pieces from MME. I pulled the "happy" from a Fancy Pants ephemera pack, stamps and ink from CTMH, and the cricut font Opposites Attract.

Happy Sunday YALL!

New Layout - Ascension Thanksgiving Luncheon

I didn't get near as much done today as I was hoping. Life seems to always get in the way, but I do have a layout to share!

This layout is of DD's Thanksgiving Luncheon in Preschool three years ago. She was at the sweetest little school and loved it so much.

Paper Issues is hosting a 30 days of Sketches event and this is Day 1 Sketch from ST member Devra. I'm not a single page scrapper, but I only had a few photos. I adapted the sketch to pick up a couple more photos and used the wavy break in the middle as water waves for my ship.  Here is the sketch:

I used a kit from gototreasurebox.com and added bling from want 2 scrap and heart from Bella Blvd.

See you again tomorrow - hopefully!

New Post - 3 Year Bday Dora

Happy day! I'm here to share another layout I completed this week. This one is of my DD 3rd birthday photos. She had a Dora the Explorer birthday party. What 3 year old does not love Dora?  We made foam backpacks for all of the party attendees and created an adventure course with a map. It was quite adorable. Maddie loves beanie babies, so of course she needed all of the Dora friends for decorations and playtime fun!  I made the Dora and friends cutouts from plywood that dear hubby cutout for me and I painted.  I ordered her skirt and shirt from Etsy - how perfect are they?

Just love this girl!

For this layout I played along with CSI Case File No. 315.  I solved the case by using the color scheme - bright yellow, tangerine, carnation pink, white, and a bit of pear green in her skirt! My evidence was stripes (the watercolor background paper is stripes and the yellow grid paper is stripes in two directions, floral patters - this part is hilarious because my page FEELS floral but there are technically no floral components so I'm not sure why it feels so flowery.  I also used butterflies, not quite birds, but they felt better with the layout. I used stitching at the date at the top and frames. My testimony was documenting something that happens at home. Maddie has EVERY birthday party at our home. No matter how much I try to convince her to have a Jump Street, Chucky Cheese, Altitude, or some other away location - she always wants it to be right at home. She loves the parties I plan for her and I love that it is so special to her! Finally, I was inspired by the word "Follow". The entire party was a parade of kids following the map quest and she loved having her beanie "friends" all lined up. Both these things led me to dig out the #lifeisajoyparade tag. Just perfect!

Here is the Case File - come play along!

Happy Crafting today!

New Layout - A Charlie Brown Christmas

Happy Saturday my scrappy friends! I've only managed a bit of craftiness this week, but I have high expectations for this weekend!

First, our baby birds hatched - what a sweet experience to witness.

I finished this layout last night of DD and our wonderful Dallas Children's Theater production of A Charlie Brown Christmas.  For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April challenge - It's Show Time. When I saw this challenge I immediately knew these were the photos to scrap.

I used a kit from EmbellishIt! and created a pocket to tuck in the program. I included our tickets, as well as photos of Maddie with all the characters in the play. I think that is her favorite part of every production - meeting the actors! She even got to do a little dance with Schroder!

Have a wonderful day!

New Layout - 1st Year Bday Part 2

Hello all my scrappy friends!  I've been trying to avoid work to finish yet another layout of DD. This one is part 2 of her 1st birthday photos. She turned 8 in September, so I'm a wee bit behind; can you relate?

For this layout I played along with CSI Case File No. 316. I used almost all of the colors including pink/lavendar, white, grey, and teal. For evidence I cut the strip ends into chevrons, I used circle patterns, gold (the title), and a scalloped journaling block. I love all the cateorgy options in each case file! They always get my juices flowing! Here is the case file.

I also played along with Scrap Our Stash April Challenge - "Feelings".  This challenge is chose one of the emoji's listed and create a layout inspired by that feeling. The word has to be included in the title.

I instantly thought of these photos as they just make me happy. She was such a loving, adorable baby. She still is, of course, but how can you resist her all pretty in pink? I used a kit from EmbellishIt! and altered it signifiantly to suit my photos. I used the title "celebrate happy" as it was her birthday. I used bling from Pima, ephemera from Fancy Pants, ink from CTMH, and tags from Heidi Swapp and really old K&Company.

I hope you are safe and well!

Happy Scrapping!

New Layout - 7 Year Bday Part 2

One more new layout! This is the 2nd part of DD's Master Chef birthday party.  She customized her own apron by drawing herself as the winning chef!

For this layout I played along again with Paper Issues April Challenge - Heavy Metal. This challenge is to get inspired to document your concert experience or use metal (a brad, clip, bobby pin, safety pin or even a piece of jewelry). The photos are full of metal with the knife, sharpener, Eat sign, and kitchen utensils. I also added more metal brads - they are in the shap of a rolling pin, a stovetop pot, and a cookie sheet (can you find them all?). I thought these would be perfect for this challenge.

I used another layout from Paper Loft for this layout and to match the part 1 layout of this same event. I added the metal brads from Eyelet Outlet, the huge 7 from Tim Holtz, and ink from CTMH.

I hope you are enjoying purusing my layouts!

Hope you are crafting!

New Layout - 7 Year Bday

Hello again today!  I'm posting another birthday layout FINALLY completed! I have all these "professional" photos that we had taken of Maddie every year for her birthday that I have never scrapped. I had a huge pile on my desk and set a goal to get the entire pile scrapped! I am done to my last envelope!!!!!

This is Maddie's 7th birthday photos. She had a Master Chef birthday party. It was quite awesome, as all her birthday parties are! My hubby built the little stove and my mom sewed all the chef hats for every guest. We also created aprons for every guest that had the Master Chef label.

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April Challenge - Heavy Metal. This challenge is to get inspired to document your concert experience or use metal (a brad, clip, bobby pin, safety pin or even a piece of jewelry). The photos are full of metal with the whisk, Eat sign, and kitchen utensils. I also added metal brads - they are in the shap of flour, a measuring cup, two pot holders, and a stand mixter (can you find them all?). I thought these would be perfect for this challenge.

I'm so happy to be inspired by these challenges! Thanks Paper Issues.

For this layout I used a kit from Paper Lofts and added the metal brads from Eyelet Outlet, enamal dots from CTMH, the number 7 from Tim Holtz, the chef title from lazercuts, a miscellaneous arrow, and ink from CTMH.

Stay dry this evening!

New Layout - 6 Year Bday Part 2

Me again, I'm almost done posting for the day, promise! :)

This is Part 2 of DD's birthday Crab Party photos. Mom and I made the Crab Shack background and it was perfect decorations for the party. You can also see the crab "backs" we made for each guest. They were red backpacks filled with packing peanuts!

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April Challenges - Seeing Double.  This challenge is to Grab those photos, two of them to be specific...and create a layout! Maybe a before and after...maybe a black and white/color photo..maybe the same photo just stacked. I am a big double page layout girl, so I played along for the right side only of this layout.

I used a super cute kit from GoToTreasurebox.com for this layout. They take a LOT of work, but turn otu super cute. I added a journaling block with a stamp from CTMH.

Enjoy and happy scrapping!

New Layout - 6 Year Bday

Yep, me again! Sharing another completed layout of DD's 6th birthday photos. For her 6th birthday she had a Crab Party. My mom made crab hats and crab claws for all the party guests. It was a huge success!

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April Challenges - Seeing Double.  This challenge is to Grab those photos, two of them to be specific...and create a layout! Maybe a before and after...maybe a black and white/color photo..maybe the same photo just stacked. I am a big double page layout girl, so I played along for both sides of the layout and limited myself to 2 photos per page. This is a big deal for me as I use lots of photos on each layout.

This layout is from Simply Stitched although I modified significantly to fit my photos. U ysed a large number from Tim Holtz, rubons from DaisyD's, arrow from Eyelet Outlet, and journaling block from CTMH.

Enjoy!

New Layout - 4 Year Bday

Hi once again! I am still trying to catch up posting all the layouts I've done this month since COVID started. I guess that's one positive to being stuck inside all day everyday. Extra time to scrap!

This layout is of DD's 4th birthday photos. Her birthday party was a dinosaur party. My mom made little vests for each of the party guests and I made them all binoculars. We also made huge paper mache dinosaur eggs for each guest filled with party favors and a dinosaur tail! It was adorable. Those photos still need to be scrapped!

I played along with Paper Issues April Challenges - Seeing Double.

This is a layout I got from Etsy and added sequins from CTMH and ink from CTMH.

Enjoy and stay safe!

New Layout - 5 Year Bday Part 2

And yet another completed layout! Here is part 2 of Maddie's 5th year birthday photos!

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April Challenges - Floral Frenzy. This challenge is to use floral photos, floral papers, floral embellishments, or floral cut files. So break out those flowers and create something beautiful for this challenge.

I used a kit from EmbellishIt! and tweaked it to suit my photos! There are tons of flowers through this layout from papers to stickers to embellishments.

Enjoy. Stay healthy and safe!

New Layout - 5 Year Bday

As promised, yet another completed layout! I'm so excited to be posting so many pages after having NO TIME to craft for years!

This is DD's 5th year birthday photos. She had a Climbing Party for her 5th birthday. We made harnesses out of dog leashes (lol) for all the party attendees and I found this super cute "Climb Like A Girl" shirt on line.  How appropriate.

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues April Challenges - Floral Frenzy. This challenge is to use floral photos, floral papers, floral embellishments, or floral cut files. So break out those flowers and create something beautiful for this challenge.

New Layout - When I Grow Up 2020

Hello all my scrappy friends!  I've been scrapping up a storm this past couple of weeks and have not uploaded my latest creations.  So...... here they come!

Every year our elementary school hosts a huge auction that raises a quarter of a MILLION dollars for our school! One thing they do is photograph every student in the school with a board of what they want to be when they grow up. It's super cute to comb through all the future plans and big aspirations of the students. This year, Maddie chose Architect.  She's been fluctuating between Architect and Engineer all year. She told me the other day that she doesn't understand why she can't be both. I tried to explain to her that both her father and I work many hours a week at our jobs respectively (architect and engineer) and that there isn't enough time in the day to do both. She had a very simple solution - she'd be an architect on Monday, an engineer on Tuesday, an architect on Wednesday, an engineer on Thursday, and an architect on Friday! Wow, such a fresh perspective. She's such a problem solver!

I played along with Paper Issues April Challenges - Floral Frenzy. This challenge is to use floral photos, floral papers, floral embellishments, or floral cut files. Break out those flowers and create something beautiful for this challenge. Come join the fun!

This layout is a CTMH layout from a calendar set, I modified for my layout and added the kite and gems.

Have a wonderful day and stay healthy!

New Layout - Easter 2015 Part 2

Yes, yet one more Easter layout from 2015. This is the part 2 layout of DD in her Easter dress when she was just 4 years old!

I played along, yet again with Paper Issues April Challenge - One-Hop Shop. Can you tell I loved this challenge? This challenge is to create a layout of Easter, bunnies, favorite places to shop, or the number 1. It has REALLY helped me to get all these old Easter layouts completed! Stop by and play along!

For this layout I used a page kit from Simply Stitched that I bought at Convention. I modified it quite a bit, but I like how it turned out with my photos. I added the little arrows and the circle tags from CocoDaisy.  How can you deny that adorable little face?

I'm so enjoying a bit of down time to ease my mind. There seems to be so much chaos in the world right now and so much uncertainty that a little bit of happiness is greatly needed!
Be safe and stay healthy!

Happy Easter!

New Layout - Easter 2015

I finished yet another Easter layout! I'm so thrilled to be getting all these fabulous photos finally in an album. They've been on my table for years!

This is DD in her Easter dress at 4 years old.  Look at that face!!!! I just can't get enough of her. I played along, yet again with Paper Issues April Challenge - One-Hop Shop. This challenge is to create a layout of Easter, bunnies, favorite places to shop, or the number 1.

I used a kit I purchased on ETSY and added some Daisy D rubons, stamps from CTMH, a tag from Fancy Pants, and bling from CTMH and Queen & Co.

Enjoy and stay safe!

Happy Easter!

New Layout - Easter 2017 Part 2

Yes, it's me again! I'm so excited that I got so much done this weekend. This is part 2 of my Easter 2017 set of photos of DD.

I played along with Paper Issues April Challenges - One-Hop Shop. The challenge is to scrap Easter, bunnies, favorite place to shop, or the number 1. I chose Easter. I used the same CTMH kit as my previous post Easter 2017 part 1.

I hope you enjoy and I hope you are de-stressing in this chaotic time with a bit of crafting! I know I am and I sure need it now more than ever!

Happy Easter!

New Layout - Easter 2017

Hi friends! I finished up this adorable layout from CTMH of DD in her Easter dress when she was 6 years old. I loke these pictures and the soft, subtle layout colorse were perfect.

I played along with Paper Issues April Challenge - One-Hop Shop. The challenge is to scrap Easter, bunnies, favorite place to shop or the number one. As today is Easter, it called to me.

I'm so glad that I FINALLY got these awesome photos in an album!

Happy Easter!

New Layout - 1 Yr Birthday

Happy Easter from Texas! I hope everyone is sheltering in place and staying safe and healthy. It's been a bit crazy here, between working remote and trying to homeschool DD. I can't image all the poor mama's with multiple children or children who struggle in school. Maddie is quick as a whip and does well staying on schedule, but it's been a crazy adjustment for us all!

After our virtual Easter Service this morning, a delicious Easter brunch from Central Market, and watching Ms. Maddie hunt for 3 dozen eggs in the backyard, I took a bit of time to scrap and play along with Paper Issues April challenge - Big A$$ Title.

These are really old photos from Maddie's 1st birthday over 7 years ago! I just want to squeeze all that baby fat. She is soooo stinking cute, if I do say so myself.  She did not like the taste of sugar, so she was extremely reluctant to dig into the cake or frosting for her smash cake photo session. It was more of a pinky taste photo session.

For this layout, I used a kit from Paper Loft and then added journaling stamps from CTMH, arrows from Recollections,  pearls from Queen & Co., rub-ons from Daisy D, and stickles.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter in the midst of chaos! We are all so blessed. Take care.
