Sketch #215 Challenge - State Fair

Here is a single page layout that I did this evening while skypbooking with my friend Angie.  It was using sketch #215 from over at Scrapbook Challenges.  It was very outside my box; I never do single page layouts but I am happy with the results.  Here is the sketch:

More Scrapbook Challenge Layouts

Here are some more challenge layouts I complete for over at Scrapbook Challenges.  I'm having such a blast with all the inspiration I'm getting from this awesome website.  Vanessa and I scrapbooked ALL day long on Sunday.  I did 9 pages, although only 4 are really scrapbook worthy.

The first two were for the challenge "Scraplift the POTW".  I scraplifted week 1, to see the week 1 layout and other completed scraplifts click here.  I used the CTMH chocolate alphabet stamp set for my title and lots of bling. I left a lot of open space on this layout.

The next two pages were for the "August Product Challenge".  The challenge was to use the following products on your layout:
1. A border punch!
2. A banner! I created my banner out of ornaments using my Quickutz.
3. A machine or hand cut title! I used my Quickutz "Sunshine" Alphabet set and them stickled the letters.  Aren't stickles just GREAT?  I also used stickles around the edge of the journaling block. I used a border stamp, bracket stamp, and journaling lines stamp all from CTMH.  What a fun challenge!

08.28.10 When Birds Attack

Ok, they really didn't attack me, but we ended our late night at the Zoo in the Aviary in the children's zoo.  Neither of us had ever been in here and it was great.  They have about 60-70 birds, 24 species and they fly and land everywhere.  As soon as we entered one whooshed over to me and landed on my camera bag.  He proceeded to nibble at my bag for about 5 minutes.  It startled me at first, but I was ok.  Later one landed on my head and proceeded to peck at my headband....nice.  Juan managed to capture my startled look.

08.28.10 Evening with the Animals - Photo Trip

Tonight was a "members only" event at the Dallas Zoo.  Since we are members and Vanessa and her family are members, we all decided to go.  Mom came along as Vanessa's guest.  We got to see the animals in the evening as the zoo keepers were feeding them.  It was also a lot cooler!  Juan and I are still on our hunt for that perfect shot for their photo contest.  What do you think?

Word Challenge Page Layout - Marshmallow Shooters

Here is a layout I created today for the August "word prompt day" over at Scrapbook Challenges.  The word for this challenge was "FUN".  I used "FUN" in the photos, but also used the word "FUN" in my journaling.  The best part was that I used ALL scraps, other than the background paper.  If you are wondering where the marshmallow stamp came from, it is actually the top of a cake stamp in the "Love Always" stamp set by CTMH.  Am I a smart cookie or what?

08.27.10 Sunset at White Rock Lake

Juan and I went on a photography excursion this evening at White Rock Lake to take some sunset photos.  Here are a few of my favs.

08.27.10 Sunset over White Rock Lake

Juan and I headed to White Rock Lake this evening for a photography excursion.  We got some pretty good shots of the boats and the sunset.  This was my favorite.

08.26.10 Goodbye to Janet

Today was Janet's last day at ccrd.  She has decided to become a SAHM (stay at home mom) to her two little ones.  We took her to lunch to send her off, and to bribe her to return in a few years.  We'll definitely miss you Janet!

08.21.10 Dallas Zoo Excursion

Juan and I headed to the Zoo today to practice our photography and try to find that perfect shot for the photography competition. We chose the hottest three hours of the day and I think we both ended up with heat stroke. Here are my favs, although I don't think any are contenders for the contest.
