Project Life - Week 46

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2011! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay awhile. I'm Jessica and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

Don't worry, I'm not leaving traditional scrapbooking behind. This just gives me the opportunity to focus my scrapbooking on trips and things that are important to me right now and not get all bogged down with every birthday, dinner, and holiday that comes along.

Each Tuesday, I will post my pictures/journaling from the previous week. Project Life Tuesday was created by Jessica Turner over at The Mom Creative and she hosts a linky for readers to link up their pictures. So if you want to join in or want to see others POTW, just click the Project Lift button at the top of this post.

And finally, my POTW:

Saturday - We FINALLY managed to finish Maddie's room! I know, it took forever. The glider/rocker arrived on Monday and that prodded us into the completing the final details. I hope she grows to love it!

Sunday - Today Maddie went to her first BBQ at Nana's house. Juan grilled hotdogs, ribs, and chicken. Ashlyn REALLY wanted to play with little Maddie. It was a beautiful 80 degree day in November!

Monday - Current baby items that we couldn't live without. The sterilizer is used at least 3 times a day and the warmer is used at every feeding. Technology is wonderful!

Tuesday - Maddie turned 2 months old today. I had to take her picture next to Mr. Elephant. I can't believe how big she is getting!

Wednesday - We tried to take Maddie's 2 month pictures today, but they didn't come out very well. This was about the best one.

Thursday - My grandma Louise came down to visit and meet Maddie for the first time. She came over this morning and spent the day with us.

Friday - We took Gam Gam to the arboretum today to see all the pumpkins. It was a little chilly, but still fun.

Thanks for visiting our week.

Project Life - Week 45

And finally, my POTW:

Saturday - My bestie, Shannon, came to visit and meet little Maddie and we took advantage of the weather and headed to the Arboretum.

Sunday - Look at these two cuties! Maddie is finally smiling and even laughing once in awhile. She had a blast with Auntie Shannon.

Monday - Two more cuties here! Shannon and I at the pumkin patch. I'm so glad she came to visit. It was wonderful having her here!

Tuesday - My dad and his wife, Sheryl, finally came down to meet little Maddie. We took them to the Arboretum today along with Jeff, Jakob, and Ashlyn. It rained this morning, so we had to detour to the mall for a couple of hours; but this afternoon it was beautiful. Since it was a week day and it had rained, we had the entire place to ourselves!

Wednesday - My dad and Maddie.

Thursday - When Shannon came last weekend, she brought Maddie an amazing gift, this treasure box! It is absolutely awesome and has so much meaning. I am a sucker for handmade personal gifts and I literally cried when I saw it. I am sure Maddie will treasure it always. Thank you Aunt Shannon!!!!

Friday - ccrd had planned me a baby shower, but Maddie's early arrival messed up that plan so they threw us a "Sip-N-See" today. We took Maddie to meet everyone and they had food, cake, drinks, games, and marvelous presents. I was in awe of their generosity and it was fantastic to see everyone again!

Thanks for visiting me this week!

Maddie's Room is Finished!

Maddie turned two months old today, so we figured it was about time to finally finish her room. Since she came almost five weeks early, we were not quite ready for her and we have not had time since then to finish it. This weekend we finally made time. Our glider/rocker finally arrived last Monday, so it now feels complete. Check it out!

14 Days Old - New Layout - Maddie

This is the layout I completed for Maddie while my friend, Shannon, was visiting a week or so ago. I never posted it, so I thought I would share. This is the last "kit" that I purchased at the convention last year. I modified it to fit my photos and used different ribbon and title work. I don't have the name of creator or I would give her credit. The tutu and headband were made by my mother. Aren't they adorable? As is my little Maddie!

Here are a couple of detailed shots:

And finally, my POTW:

Saturday - Angie and Kayla came to visit today. It was the first time that Maddie and Kayla met and they were instant best friends.

Sunday - Bath time has gotten better. She still cries if she gets cold; but she seems ok with it most of the time.

Monday - Today is Halloween and we went to Mom's to hand out candy to the kids while Mom and Vanessa took Jakob and Ashlyn trick-or-treating. Maddie was a pea in a pod, my little sweet pea!

Tuesday - Maddie and I went out to our first restaurant today. We met the girls for lunch at Traverna's. It was so great to get out and Maddie did great, sleeping the entire time.

Wednesday - My little princess fell asleep reading her books. :)

Thursday - We have not been to the grocery store in about a month. Mom came over to watch Maddie and I stocked us up! This is only part of it, so scary; but at least we have food in the house again.

Friday - Aunt Shannon arrived late this evening to meet Maddie. It was love at first sight for both of them!

Thanks for visiting!
