Thankful for this Beautiful Life - New Layout

Still in scrappy mode and was able to crank out another layout today. I should have been taking down the Christmas decorations, but vegging in my scrappin chair seemed way more fun! This is a layout from Thanksgiving this year. We have so much to be thankful for.

I played along with Sketches4All - Rachelle's December Deck the Halls with Bows challenge. This challenge is to use at least one bow. I made a bow out of string on the upper right hand page.

For the left side, I played along with My Scraps & More - 10th Day of Christmas. The challenge is to scrap a photo of your family and include a heart. This one was easy peasy!

For the right side, I played along with My Scraps & More - 8th Day of Christmas. The challenge is to create a layout featuring you and one other person who is special in your life. These are photos of my daughter and I preparing our Thanksgiving Day dinner, great memories of her 2 year old antics.

Materials used: paper - EP; chipboard heart - Scrapmatts; stickers - EP; chipboard - EP; alphabets - EP & K&Company; twine - unknown; flower - Petaloo; pop-dot - Forever in Time; ink - CTMH.

Noel 2013 - New Layout

Finally, another one completed. Only my 2nd of the day and it is after 10 pm. This is our 2013 Family Christmas photos.

For this layout I played along with Sketches4All - Libby's December Challenge which is to use a snowflake. I used snowflake paper, a snowflake brad and then cut individual snowflakes out of circles.

For the left side I used a sketch from Simple Sketches - #14 and rotated it. Here is the sketch:

I also played along with My Scraps & More - 7th Day of Christmas. This challenge is to use ornaments, or in this case circles - at least 8. I used photos with ornaments in the photos and used 8 circles - the two large background diecuts, the three paper snowflake circles, and three brads. The snowflake paper also contains small circles.

Finally, I played along with S.W.A.T. Drill #21 - A Caroling We Go. This challenge is to use a Christmas Carol for the title. I used the Carol - Noel and strung it over and over across the page.

For the right side I played along with My Scraps & More - 1st Day of Christmas. This challenge is to use the sketch below. I rotated it to work with my photos:

Materials Used: paper - MME; brads - MME and unknown; ink - CTMH; chipboard numbers - unknown; paint - unknown; layered stickers - unknown.

Deck the Halls - New Layout

Back home in sweet Dallas, TX. A long, but fun weekend with the little one. I will post pics soon. Daddy took little miss out on errands so I have a quite hour to myself and was able to finish this last layout from this weekend. Our decorated Christmas tree with in progress pics as Maddie was placing the first ornaments.

For this layout I played along with Sketches4All - Once upon a Theme - Holiday layout. What is more holiday than a Christmas tree?

For the left side I used this December sketch from My Mind's Eye. I mirrored the sketch and used MME product on my layout. I used the Lost & Found Christmas line for 99% of this layout from the paper to the brads, to the banner.

I also played along with My Scraps & More - 11th Day of Christmas. This challenge was to use mists or paints. I used red mist on the background paper.

I used the title "Deck the Halls" and the tag "Oh Christmas Tree" to play along with Colorful Creations - Say it with Words December challenge. This challenge was to use one or more of the following words:

Deck the halls
peace
tree
snow
believe
traditions
festive
white christmas
He's makin' a list!
a frosty good time
joyful
wishes

For the right side of the page, I played along with My Scraps & More - 4th Day of Christmas. The challenge is to scraplift this page:

Twas the Night Before... - New Layout

Yipppeeee, another one completed! This one is of Maddie this year visiting Santa Claus and the Christmas card we sent out.

I played along with Sketches4All - Cheryl's Group Challenge - Dec. This challenge is Christmas Anything Goes - easy peasy!

I also played along with Lasting Memories #171 - Here Comes Santa Claus!

For the left side, I played along with Inkido's December challenge - to incorporate a star or snowflake. I used snowflakes at the top near the title and there are also snowflakes on the Christmas card I included.

For the right side, I played along with 1-2-3 Get Scrappy - Challenge #5. I played the 2nd row and incorporated numbers - the date and the 25 in the flower, baker's twine - tied around the tree; and scalloped edges - created with a border punch.

Finally, I played along with My Scraps & More - 3rd Day of Christmas. This challenge is to use 2 photos, something from 3 manufacturers, NO cardstock, and mist or paint.  I used 2 photos, lots of manufacturers, no cardstock (it is all patterned paper even though some of it looks like cardstock in the photo), and red mist on the background paper.  Manufacturers: paper - Fancy Pants and Carta Bella; ink - CTMH; border punch - Martha Stewart; twine - MME; popdots - Forever in Time.

Thanks for Visiting!

Walls Family Farm - New Layout

Another layout in the bag! We cut down our first Christmas tree this year at the Walls Family Farm. My daughter was very excited to pick out a tree and to run through the forest!

I played along with Sketches4All - Cheryl's Dec Holiday challenge - Christmas Anything Goes, easy peasy!

I also played along with My Scraps & More - 2nd Day of Christmas. This challenge is to create a layout using this picture as inspiration. You must use at least 4 of the colors and like my page below, they can be a hue of the color. It does not have to be the exact blue for example. Just blue is fine!  The colors are Dark Green, Red, Light Green, Blue, and Grey.  I used all the colors. Every color can be seen in the Merry cardstock title, although the color scheme was used throughout.

Here is the left side:

Here is the right side:

Materials used: paper- EP; cardstock - EP; twine - unknown; bling - unknown; ink - CTMH; ribbon - unkonwn; stickers - K&Company; number chipboard - BG.

Family - SImple Joys - New Layout

I am at a Scrappy Girls' weekend with 4 little girls under the age of 4!  We are having fun, but not getting a whole lot done.  I did finish a couple of pages.

This is a layout from pre-Thanksgiving day this year as I was preparing our Thanksgiving Feast with the "help" of my little Miss.  I played along with Scrap Our Stash - Challenge #10.  The challenge is to create a layout about your family or someone in your family.  There are two other requirements... 1) you must use a phrase from this Word Art: and 2) from your stash, you much add 4 photo corners to your layout.

I created a layout of my little girl, used the phrases: Simple Joys and We are Blessed, and the 4 photo corners are two on the right hand page at the far corners and two on the main photo on the left of my hubby.

I also played along with My Scraps & More - 9th Day of Christmas. This challenge was to create a layout and include a card of some type on it. It can be a journaling card, a 4x6 or 3x4 die cut card, etc. I just need to see a card.  I used multiple cards on this layout. I used a 4x6 as the main journaling block on the left, and (2) 3x4 cards on the right page.

I added lots of bling to "make it sparkle" and play along with Kristi B's Scrappy Friends - December challenge.

Finally, I played along with Sketches4All - Stacy H-W's Dec. Stash challenge. This was an anything goes challenge, easy peasy.

Here is the left page:

And here is the right page:

Materials used: bling - Want2Scrap; chipboard - EP; paper - EP; ink - CTMH; ribbon - unknown; stickers - EP; thickers; staples - unknown.

Visiting Santa

Only 22 days until Christmas! I took Maddie to visit Santa today. On the way I asked her what she was going to tell Santa that she wanted for Christmas and she replied, "A window and a door." LOL, no idea where she go that. She was so excited and was such a good girl waiting in line (especially for a 2 year old). She wasn't scared at all, but was a bit timid when Santa was talking to her. She just nodded to his questions. He even gave her a Gingerbread Mouse book and read a bit to her. It was quite adorable.

The video is HERE

Here are a couple of pics:

Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas Season my fellow scrappers! We started out the season in full gear. We went to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our own tree this year. We even got it decorated! Maddie was SOOOOOO excited and LOVES the tree. I finished this pumpkin decorating layout last night after gorging on food and cleaning up the mess, :)

I played along with Sketches4All - Anniversary Challenge #6 - use circles. I used circles for the background paper, the layered circles, and the pumpkins.

For the left side, I used a sketch from Simple Sketches - No. 12. Here is the sketch:

For the right side, I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy - Week 4. Here is the sketch, which I rotated counterclockwise:

Cousins and Friends - New Layout

Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I have not begun to get ready, other than there is a turkey thawing in the fridge! All other shopping is still on the to do list. Oh well, it will get done so I'm not going to stress....instead, I am going to scrap! Procrastination is the way of the world, right?

This is my layout of Maddie trick-or-treating with her cousins for the first time this year. They were all too cute in their little costumes!

I played along with the Southern Girls' challenge - Round, Round, Baby Right Round (use circles). I used lots of circles on my layout: I cut the background paper in the shape of a circle, punched circle paper on the right side, used circle brads throughout, and added two paper circle flowers.

I also played along with 1 2 3 Get Scrappy challenge #4, a tic-tac-toe challenge. I used the middle, horizontal line: pearls, circles, and paper piercing. I used pearl brads, lots of circles (background paper, punches, brads and circle flowers), and paper piercing for the cross stitching I did on both the journaling block on the left hand page and the paper pieces on the right hand page.

I am linking up with The Memory Nest - Crafty Creations Link up #6.

Finally, I played along with Frosted Designs - 11 item challenge: to use at least one of the following items
1.             Tags;
2.             Paper layering
3.             Washi tape
4.             Flags/banners
5.             Patchwork
6.             Circles
7.             Stitching
8.             Stars
9.             Flowers
10.          Buttons
11.          Arrows
I used paper layering, banner, circles, patchwork, stitching, flowers (paper), and arrows.  7 of the 11 items isn't too shabby!

For the left side, I used the sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap, sketch #44. Here is the sketch:

For the right side, I used the sketch from My Mind's Eye - November sketch week. I used all MME products, except for the flower which is by the girls' paperie. Here is the sketch:
