Halloween Layouts - Close to my Heart "Jeepers Creepers" kit

Hello my scrappy fiends!

As I mentioned in my last post, I spent the weekend scrapping using mostly kits.  This is the new "Jeepers Creepers" Halloween kit from Close to my Heart.  It was perfect for Maddie's photos of her adorable bat costume.  The kit includes product to make 6 pages (3 double page layouts). I did add the bat stickers on the first two pages, bat washi tape, bling, and thickers numbers for the year from my stash; but the rest is all from the kit. It even includes washi tape and page titles.

This kit is available for purchase if you would like to create your own Halloween memory pages. Just follow my Close to my Heart consultant link to order at: jessicanavarro.ctmh.com

"Our Little Garden Gnome" Layout

Hi all! I spent a fun scrappy weekend with my besties and managed to complete 20 pages of layouts. Since I haven't scrapbooked in almost a year, I was pretty excited. I will admit upfront that most of them were kits. It is so hard to find time to scrapbook, that kits just seem to be much easier these days. I did finish off my scrapping spree with a new double page layout created from a couple of recent sketches.

For the left side I used the new November 1st sketch at Sketch-N-Scrap

For the right side I used the new sketch #248 at Sketches in Thyme

I rotated both sketches and used the Simple Stories Bloom & Grow stickers and chipboard. These are old photos from when Maddie was just 20 months old.

"Ballet" Layout

Happy Tuesday! I finished another layout last night for the virtual crop I attended this weekend with "Memories in Thyme" on Facebook.

This layout is of DD and her first season of Ballet class this past summer. This was the last class where the parents were invited into the class to see everything they had learned.

The challenge on the virtual crop was to use circles. I used circle punches, circle stickers, and a circle chipboard frame which I painted white.

I also played along with "Lasting Memories #277 - Anything Goes - as long as it follows this months New Beginnings theme. Ballet is definitely new for DD and for me. I've never taken ballet or been around it. It is quite the new experience for us all!

Finally, I played along with Really Reasonable Ribbon RRR Challenge #133 - Show me the Pink with Ribbon or Trim Theme. My layout is definitely pink and I used a lacy ribbon along the bottom of the layout and along the top of the journaling block.

Materials used: Paper - Reminisce; ink - CTMH; stamp - Journaling Jots CTMH; stickers and 3D stickers - Reminisce; ribbon - unknown; chipboard frame - Creative Embellishments; paint - craft essentials.

Have you ever attended a virtual crop party? I joined my first one this weekend. It was sponsored by "Memories in Thyme" on Facebook. I actually got quite a few pages completed and wanted to share! "Ballet" - Layout

Hi to all my scrappy friends! I created a new layout for a weekend virtual crop with "Memories in Thyme" on Facebook. It was the first time I participated in a virtual crop and I loved it. I got quite a few layouts complete - which I will post later.

This layout is of DD and her first Ballet class this past summer. The little 3 year olds were quite adorable.

The challenge on the virtual crop was to use pink and black, ribbon or twine, sequins or bling, and a stamp. I used ribbon on the little ballet shoes, bling on the words to the left, and a little CTMH stamp on near a few of the words.

I also played along with "Lasting Memories #274 - Time for New Beginnings". The challenge is to....show what you do that's NEW. Activity, sport, project hobby, making a new friend.... etc. Ballet is definitely new for DD and for me. I've never taken ballet or been around it. It is quite the new experience for us all!

Materials used: Paper - paper loft; ink - CTMH; stamp - Kindred Spirits CTMH; title - Paper Wizard; ballerina and shoes - Jolee's Boutique.

Project Life - Week 52

Welcome to Project Life 2015! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 4 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins.

I am using a digital kit on Shutterfly. This digital version is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly - Project Life Turquoise Edition HERE and my 2013 album using the Shutterfly - Project Life Childhood - Mayfield Edition HERE I will hopefully be posting my 2014 pages soon.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Thursday - Christmas Eve at Nana's with Vanessa, her boyfriend Kevin and the kids. Tiffany was visiting and came along as well. Mom got us girls matching scarves for our family photo this year. The kids had a blast opening presents and playing. It was over too quick.

Friday - Christmas morning was amazing. Maddie got up and ran downstairs before I could even get the camera on to record. She was enthralled by the My Little Pony castle that Santa brought her. She loved everything from her spin toothbrush to her remote controlled smoke breathing dragon. We got Daddy a Kreurig and lots of stuff for his grille and fire pit. Daddy got me an awesome Henry Bengel laptop bag. He said I needed a bag worthy of a Vice President! He also got me a huge blue tooth speaker for my scrap room. Most importantly, Maddie, Daddy and I spent the morning together. Daddy even made us migas! Adam came over at about 1pm and we all played Maddie's new Jenga game about 20 times. Then we headed outside so Maddie (and Daddy) could use her new microscope. She loved collecting specimens. Juan's parents came over at about 4:00 and Jaime and Paloma arrived shortly thereafter. Juan's parents didn't stay long. Jaime, Paloma and Adam all stayed and we had the rest of the tamales on the patio. I love Dallas - it was short sleeve weather today on Christmas. We had a very blessed day.

Saturday - Daddy promised Maddie we would take her to get her own library card. She didn't really understand what it was or why we couldn't just buy and keep the books. She was far more interested in all the little children toys than picking out books. She was allowed to check out three books her first time. We finally coerced her into picking, "Splat the Cat and the Duck with No Quack," "Giddy-up Daddy," and "Peppa Pig and the Day at the Museum." "Giddy-up Daddy" was the favorite and we read it almost every night for 3 weeks!

Sunday - Jaime went to San Antonio this weekend to get Amani and Amore for a visit. We planned on taking everyone to the Arboretum today after church, but it rained all day. Then Jaime got a flat tire, so they didn't arrive until dinner time. Maddie loved playing with Amani. Amore wanted assistance on creating a resume to apply for an art magnet high school in San Antonio. She has some serious skills with creating digital videos.

Wednesday - Daddy and Maddie opened Maddie's new lego set this evening. Juan had as much fun putting it together as Maddie did.

Thursday - I took off work today for New Year's Eve and we met Vanessa and the kids at Nanas. The kids played outside and created with Crazy Sand. Then we came home and Daddy grilled for us. We invited Nana to join us. Daddy started the fire pit as it was cold and a bit windy. Adam and Tiffany both came over to join us as well. At 8pm we turned on the Netflix "kids countdown" to simulate midnight. We got out poppers and Maddie loved them. The first scared her a bit, but then she wanted to pop more and more. It was a pretty laid back New Years. I stayed up scrapping until midnight, but Juan fell asleep and then awoke to wish me a Happy New Year. Overall we had a pretty amazing year. We are so blessed to be surrounded by so many friends and family. We are healthy and have a happy and special little girl. I only pray that we are as blessed in 2016.
