Project Life Tuesday - Week 16

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2011! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay awhile. I'm Jessica and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

Don't worry, I'm not leaving traditional scrapbooking behind. This just gives me the opportunity to focus my scrapbooking on trips and things that are important to me right now and not get all bogged down with every birthday, dinner, and holiday that comes along.

Each Tuesday, I will post my pictures/journaling from the previous week. Project Life Tuesday was created by Jessica Turner over at The Mom Creative and she hosts a linky for readers to link up their pictures. So if you want to join in or want to see others POTW, just click the Project Lift button at the top of this post.
And finally, my POTW:

Saturday - Since Mom and I will be scrapping next weekend for Easter, we had a pre-Easter party. We decorated eggs by drizzling them with crown shavings, made animals out of plastic eggs, and snorkle people! How cute are they? Jakob loved dying Easter eggs! He did a great job, but wanted each one to soak for like 20 minutes. How can a 2 year old have that much patience? I had to fight him to get the egg out and start another one. Silly boy! We also hid plastic eggs for him in the backyard and watched him "hunt" for them. Mom brought him and easter basket that was fuzzy and in the shape of an airplane. He looked adorable carrying it around and filling it with eggs!

Sunday - Juan has been doing his final editing of the Fashion Show from Friday .  Not only did he take great photos of the show, but he editing them very artistically.  The photo on the right is Amber Pickett, the model from P+W, where Juan works.  The model on the left is another model whose outfit I loved! Can you believe these outfits are all made out of building design materials?  Too cool!

Monday - Check out this awesome apron my mom made me!  I told her I needed one that wasn't Christmas since I have been cooking so much.  Isn't this just precious?  I just love it!  THANKS MOM!!!!

Tuesday - Look at the amazing gift I received in the mail today! My awesome blogging friend, Jolanda, from the Netherlands created this for me with our wedding photos.  Isn't she just the sweetest thing?  I absolutely LOVE it.  It is already hanging in our living room!  Thanks Jolanda!!!!  Check out her other amazing creations on her blog at: http://jolandascrapsels.blogspot.com/

Wednesday - Whoops, I forgot to take my picture today!  I am officially 15 weeks pregnant! Stats: 224.5 lbs.  Feeling good!  Sort of a let down that nothing seems to be happening at the moment.  Our next OB appointment isn't until next week.  I guess at this point no news is good news! :)  Our little alien is the size of an apple this week!

Thursday - Mom and I packed up her car and headed to Talequah, OK for a 4 day scrapbook retreat with Angie, Shannon, and Shannon's mom!  We were the first to arrive.  Angie and Shannon had a rough week and were ready to break open some wine.  Shannon pulled out the very high class, boxed wine and proceeded to drink from the spout!  LOL, not really, but the boxed wine cracked me up.

Friday - Another fun day at the Scrappin Pad!  We ran around town and even managed to get a few pages done.  Naps were a must for Angie, Shannon and I!  Aren't my girls super cute!

Project Life Tuesday - Week 15

And finally, my POTW:

Saturday - We headed over to the Arboretum to see the Arboretum in Bloom - Tulip Fest; but I was terribly sad that they were all dead and gone!  Instead we wandered through the 7 Storybook Houses currently on display.  This is the first year that P+W didn't participate in this annual design event.

Sunday - Brunch with the Navarro's today to celebrate Juan's mother's birthday.  Delicious buffet, but unfortunately I don't remember the name.  It was way north in Frisco.  It was a beautiful day and great time with family.

Monday - Tonight was multicultural night at Vanessa's school.  I went to occupy Jakob while she served food in the cafeteria.  He was adorable and just wanted to climb every stair that we saw; even if they were the same ones we just climbed.  This is Vanessa's classroom with a multitude of art projects decorating the walls and ceiling.  How inspiring!

Tuesday - Miriam and I went to see a movie at Studio Movie Grille this evening.  We saw Source Code and although we didn't get to chat much, it was great to see her.  It seems like we never catch up with each other any more.

Wednesday - I am 14 weeks pregnant today!  Everything is going great and seems to be on track.  It's just a waiting game.  I'm still tired a lot, but otherwise, I feel fine.  Once in awhile I have round ligament pains, but they don't last for long.  Pregnancy stats: 223.1 lbs.  Our alien is the size of a lemon this week!

Thursday - Yummy, Agua de Mango (Mango Water) from Taco Diner!  Juan was having a difficult day with some Baylor clients so I met him after work for a happy hour of sorts.  He had a beer and I had this delicious beverage while sitting on the patio enjoying the sunshine!

Friday - Juan was asked to photograph the IIDA CRE8 Fashion Show.  This was a much bigger production that last year.  It was on the 47th floor of the Bank of America building in downtown Dallas and even had radio personality Jenna from Kidd Kraddick host it.  P+W had a dress and model in the competition and won the crowd favorite award.  For this fashion show each team (mostly architectural/design firms) must create an entire outfit out of design materials such as carpet samples, tiles, etc.  The outfits were amazing.

My Baby's Heartbeat!!!!

I had my 16 week OB appointment today and we heard our little alien's heartbeat for the first time!!!!!  YIPPPEEE, my dr. said that is a big milestone and everything looks great.

Camp Nou Stadium Layout

Happy Monday! Here is a layout I created this weekend while at the Mommy and Me scrap retreat!  It is more photos of us in Barcelona at Camp Nou Stadium.  I think this is the first layout that I have done in months that wasn't using some sort of challenge!

Here are a couple of detailed shots:

Materials Used: Title - Scrap Your Trip; rubons - unknown; paper - crate paper and unknown; journaling block - Cosmo Cricut; arrows - unknown; bling - unknown; ribbon - American Crafts.

LS Scrap our Stash Challenge #6 & Scrap Our Stash April Challenge Layout

Another layout from this weekends scrap-a-thon.  This one is from Barcelona, still Camp Nou.  Here is my layout:

I created this layout for both the Scrap Our Stash Challenge #6 over at Let's Scrap and the "April Bring in the Sun Challenge" over at Scrap Our Stash

The Let's Scrap challenge was to:
1. Use the oldest patterned paper in your stash - I've had the yellow soccer paper for at least 6 years, waiting for the perfect soccer layout.
2. Use fibers and if you don't have fibers: twine, any thread or even ribbon - I used navy dot ribbon.
3. Use at least three rhinestones - I used way more than 3 with the bling swirls in the corners.
4. Stamp on your card/LO - I used two different stamp set alphabets from CTMH for the title.

The April Challenge is to Bring in the Sun! Most everyone is ready for winter to end and spring to be here. So this months challenge is to do something with or about the Sun. It can be a layout, card, album, or anything you want to create that has something to do with the Sun.

It was such a beautiful sunny day in Barcelona when we visited Camp Nou. The sun made the amazing stadium field seems amazing.  I accented my sun page with a combination Cricut/Quickutz punch.

I also used a sketch from Sketch Support.

Here are a few detailed pictures:

Materials Used: paper - old unknown; soccer stickers - Jolees; ribbon - Crate Paper; alphabet stamp titles - CTMH; ink - CTMH; bling - unknown; paper clip - Basic Grey; alphabet stickers - Cosmo Cricut; sun diecut - Quickutz and Cricut cartridge.

Thanks for visiting me!

The Scrappiest Sketch 115 Layout
