Project Life - Week 25

Welcome to Project Life 2012! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to new baby Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital Cobalt kit, find it at http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog/2011/10/new-product-has-arrived/ This digital version uses Shutterfly and is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 at http://scraplifterdesigns.blogspot.com/p/project-life-layouts.html

And now my pictures of the week:
Sunday - Juan's grandmother was here from Mexico. Maddie wasn't quite sure what to think of her and the rest of the Juan's aunts and uncles, but she didn't scream or cry for us which I was glad.

Monday - Maddie LOVES her swing. She will sit in it for hours, even if we are not swinging her. She just loves the outside. I'm so glad we have a nice yard for her to grow up and play in.

Tuesday - Miriam came to visit this afternoon. Maddie thoroughly enjoyed the vist and Miriam's necklace!

Wednesday - Maddie's 9 month photo shoot wasn't my favorite, but I'm still glad that we had them taken. We tried to get a couple of good bubble pics, but Maddie wasn't really in the most cooperative mood.

Friday - Maddie really likes her elephant now. She hugs it and tries to kiss it. She is getting so big and is such a serious little baby.

Thanks for visiting me!

Project Life - Week 24

And now my pictures of the week:
Sunday - Maddie loves playing with cords. No matter how high I pull the blinds, she still tries to reach for it. I can't believe how tall she is, she can almost open the door.
Monday - Our dogs are still at the other house as we didn't have a place to put them in the new backyard. Today Juan rented a post hole digger and some pre-built panels and built them a dog run. It didn't turn out too bad for his first wood project. Maddie played in her activity chair while Mommy and Daddy worked outside.

Tuesday - Maddie still enjoys her activity chair for a limited time each day. She is beginning to play more with it from the outside than from sitting in it. She loves mirrors and pictures of herself.

Wednesday - Maddie's 9 month well baby visit was today with Dr. Hubbard. She is a very big baby at 25.4 lbs (over 95th percentile), 31" long (over 95th percentile) and 18-1/8" circumference head (92nd percentile). She told us to start maddie on all finger foods. She said there is no reason to continue pureeing baby food, just to make sure the bites are small and soft. She said that she could even eat hot dogs. She is definitely a happy and healthy baby and we are very blessed.

Thursday - It hailed horribly today. It was so loud that I took Maddie to an interior room. I was scared it was going to come through the roof. It tore up a lot of our new beautiful yard, fence, playground, even dented the new patio chairs. Thankfully my car was in the garage and Juan was still at work so his car was protected. The storm did a lot of damage everywhere.
Friday - Juan had fun with Maddie's pants today. Maddie wasn't quite as excited.
Saturday - We went to visit Maria and Alfonso today and Alfonso had bought this super cute little hat for Maddie. She was more interested in Abuelito's hat then her own; but Grandpa was happy.   Thanks for visiting!

And now my pictures of the week:
Tuesday - We are moved into our new house. I was in Maddie's room putting things away and it was suddenly quiet. I turned around and Maddie was gone. She had quickly found her way into the bathroom and into the tub. I heard a thud and when I ran into the bathroom, this is what I found. She is such a little climber. I'm not sure how she even got in there, other than launching herself head first. Needless to say, her pants were a little wet from this mornings bath.

Wednesday - It poured today. Maddie was enthralled by the sight and the sound of the rain.

Thursday - Maddie found a lovely use for my crop-in-style. She thought it was a fantastic playhouse.

Saturday - In the new house, we made an effort to keep all of the breakables and chemicals out of the low accessible shelves. This leaves Maddie safe to explore in the cabinets. She loves to open and shut the doors. Amazingly enough, she doesn't get in them much, I think becuase it is not an off limits area.

Thanks for visiting me!

Project Life - Week 22

And now my pictures of the week:

Sunday - The movers came today. They moved mainly boxes and no furniture and it still took them almost 4 hours. It was very nerve racking as there were 3 guys, but they were small. Surprisingly strong though. I will be glad when all of this moving is over.

Monday - Afternoons and evenings with Maddie are often full of books. She loves turning the pages and having books read to her. It is usually one right after another.

Tuesday - A freezer full of food for Maddie. That's how I spent this evening. This should last for a week or two.

Wednesday - Maddie loves her cookie monster stethescope. When you push the button it says, "aye, aye, aye, me think you are very healthy,"  "take two cookies and call me in the morning," "your heart beat is very strong".  She also loves putting the entire piece in her mouth, silly girl!

Thursday - Maddie's nails grow so quickly. I have to file her little nails about every two weeks or so. I have never cut her nails. I have been to scared that she would jerk and I would cut too deep. It is getting harder and harder to keep her still long enough to file them.

Friday - Julie, one of the electrical device reps, came and took a few of the electrical designers to lunch from my office. She hooked me up with new decora receptacles and switches for our new house. We decided to splurge since it was Friday and had a frosty beverage. The waiter brought a couple of mini samples for the guys. My friend Doug was right at home sipping away, LOL!

Thanks for visiting!

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week):

Sunday - We finally went to visit at Vanessa's new house. We took them a little house warming present and let the kids play for awhile. Then we took Maddie to get frozen yogurt for the first time. She loved it, surprise surprise.

Monday - Our little farmer girl. Maria brought a couple of Sole's old jeans and these adorable overalls. Maddie has taken to crawling/climbing in, under, and around her high-chair. She gets stuck and frustrated but then manages to get out again.

Tuesday - I've been packing for days and apparently Maddie got a little lost in all of the boxes today! She is such a little climber and thinks the boxes are her own personal playground.

Thursday - We closed on our new house today! Yeah. It was a very exciting, yet scary and daunting new life. We are opening a door on a whole new chapter to our lives.

Friday - Maddie seems to be perfectly comfortable in her new home, although it seems a bit large!

Saturday - Packed up and ready for Move #1 to declutter the townhome so we can have photos taken.

Thanks for visiting!

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week):

Sunday - For Mother's day, Maddie and Juan got me a gorgeous little necklace. We then headed over to Mom's house for a family bar-b-que.  Maddie had fun watching and playing with her cousins and with Nana. We ate some terrific grilled food, courtesy of Juan, and had a wonderful afternoon.
Monday - Adam came over and Juan grilled, again. The pork was so good the previous day that we decided to replicate the wonderful meal.

Tuesday - Maddie is 8 months today. She is officially larger than her elephant! She is finally starting to like her stuffed elephant and loves to plant her face in its soft fur.

Wednesday - I can't believe how big Maddie is getting. She is now standing alone and pulls up by herself. Daddy loves playing a game with Maddie where he taps under her chin repetitively and she goes, bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu. I think Maddie enjoys it as much as Daddy does.

Thursday - Juan had his upper wisdom teeth pulled today. Amazingly enough, Dr. Marshall was able to do it with only a local anesthetic. Juan was already feeling better this evening. Tonight was the Art Program that Vanessa put together for her school. This year she even included a silent auction of selected student work. It was awesome and I placed bids on about 25 different pieces. I ended up going home with about 10 student works. Half the money raised went to the art program and half went directly to the students.

Friday - Maddie still loves bathtime. In fact, if we take her into her bathroom to brush her teeth and don't let her take a bath, she screams and cries and throws a fit. We are currently using this great bath ring that keeps her from slipping. It works great and we love it.
Saturday - We took Maddie to JCPenney's today to get her 8 months photos taken. Since she just started standing, Tiffany, our photographer had us hold Maddie's hands to showcase her new talent. I love how this picture turned out!   Thanks for Visiting!
