Project Life - Week 48

Welcome to Project Life 2013! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 2 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital kit on shutterfly (hopefully Olive once it has been released), find more info at http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog. This digital version uses Shutterfly and is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week):

Tuesday - Maddie and Daddy with the playdough, again. I'm pretty sure she is asking Daddy to make her a witch! She wants to be just like Daddy and mimic's everything he does. He pulled a pillow off the couch while they were playing on the floor and Maddie said, "ooohhh Maddie get one too!"

Wednesday - I took the day off to do as much prep work for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow as possible. We may have up to 13 people in attendance, so there was a lot to do. Maddie was quite the little helper and wanted to be on her stool watching and helping everything. She decided very quickly that licking the bowls and tasting the ingredients was way preferable to mixing and helping. She definitely slowed things down a bit, but it was so much more enjoyable having her there "helping." Watching her experience the mixing and baking was infinitely more fun than doing it quickly myself.

Thursday - Maddie was all too excited to help me prepare the rest of Thanksgiving dinner. I didn't realize that Maddie was adding the carrots to the pot by way of her mouth! Our table of 13 turned out to be 6 so we had way too much food. Aunt Miriam joins us every year for Thanksgiving, only she is moving to Seattle in just a couple of weeks. This may be the last Thanksgiving she is able to celebrate with us. I found Maddie and Miriam giggling and snuggling in Maddie's crib after dinner. We will miss having her close!

Friday - We chopped down our own Christmas tree for the first time ever. We went to Wall's Family Farm in Terrell. It was quite wonderful and we had a great time. I think Maddie's favorite part was the popcorn and hot chocolate after. Maddie was very excited to decorate the tree and wanted to take out all the ornaments as fast as possible! This is definitely a tradition we will be repeating in the future.

Saturday - An impromptu trip to Home Depot led to a fun kids workshop for Maddie. It just happened to be the first Saturday of the month, so she got to create and paint a toolbox. She loves using a hammer! This afternoon, Juan decided to put lights on the house while it was nice. Yes, that is him on top of the two story side....crazy crazy man!

Thanks for visiting!
