Project Life - Week 49

Welcome to Project Life 2013! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 2 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital kit on shutterfly (hopefully Olive once it has been released), find more info at http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog. This digital version uses Shutterfly and is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week):

Tuesday - After decorating all weekend, Maddie still wants to "decorate for Christmas" everyday. Today I started wrapping presents and after a discussion in which I explained why these presents weren't for Maddie and who they were for, she was very content to help me wrap them. "Help" involved sticking pieces of tape randomly on the packages, LOL!

Wednesday - I took Maddie to see Santa this afternoon after work at Northpark. The wait wasn't too bad and Maddie was the perfect angel waiting her turn, a completely different experience from last year. When I asked what she was going to ask Santa for, she responded, "um a window and a door." No idea where that came from. She wasn't scared of Santa, but also wasn't the little chatterbox that she usually is. This year Santa gave her a book, "Gingerbread Mouse." This would quickly become one of Maddie's favorite night-night book. They also video taped the event, quite sweet. You can see the video HERE.

Thursday - Maddie loves our snow globes. Juan and I have been collecting a snow globe each year since we met. Mostly they are from a trip we took that year or a special Christmas memory. Maddie wants to hold them everyday and listen to the music. This year we got a Winnie the Pooh snow globe to signify Maddie's current obsession with Winnie the Pooh. Maddie has also become quite the little pro with puzzles. She can complete 24 piece puzzles alone in almost the blink of an eye. Tonight Juan was racing her in completing puzzles. Here and here are the videos!

Friday - Today we made a fire for the first time in our fireplace. Maddie was very intrigued and watched it forever. Tomorrow is Juan's birthday so we gave him his birthday present early. We got him a replacement blower and edger after his was stolen out of our garage, but I wanted to get him something else. We got him a Ralph Lauren sweater and shirt. Watch Maddie's excitement in giving him the present, here!

Saturday - That's not snow on the ground, but solid ice. There is a sheet everywhere and on everything. We lost power a couple times during the night, but we were lucky and it was restored rather quickly. We bundled up Maddie and took her out to experience the cold stuff. She was amazed! Juan also let her play horsie on his knee, see the video HERE.

Sunday - Still ice covered everything today! It didn't get above freezing today and what did melted froze again and made the roads ever worse than yesterday.

Sunday - Still quite a bit of ice of the roads, but Nana decided to come over anyway as we were baking it up today. Maddie was quite the helper as we made sugar cookies, oreo truffle balls, peppermint cookies, and even decorated the sugar cookies! She has a fairly short attention span, so she only lasted in 5-10 minute spurts; but it was a fun time.

Thanks for visiting!
