Happy hump day, my scrappy friends! First, thanks so much for visiting my little blog. I am so happy to have visitors! I finished another layout last night (that I've been working on for 2 days). Good grief, at this rate I'll be caught up in.......NEVER, LOL! This is LOAD (Lay Out A Day) #14 & 15. Yippeee, the LOAD over at Let's Scrap is inspiring me to crank out these layouts and boy am I having fun!
For this layout I played along with My Scraps & More - Mix it UP Monday 1-13-14. This is a recipe challenge. The recipe:
- buttons
- 4 or more patterned paper's
- washi tape (or fake it if you don't have any)
- use the words "Hello my name is..." somewhere on your layout. It can be your title like on mine or in your journaling. It's up to you!
I've been wanting to document Maddie's first Spanish word "Ayudame" (help me), although she pronounces it, "ayud-na-ne; ayud-na-ne." It is about the sweetest thing ever. She uses it all the time though, even when she doesn't truly need help; so we are working on that. This picture of her peaking out of the log at the Arboretum seemed to be the perfect opportunity to document that. I loved the idea of "hello, my name is" and I just happened to have a new stamp set that has the traditional "hello, my name is" sticker. I wanted to use the Freckled Fawn wooden "hello", so I only used part of the stamp. I used 5 different patterned papers and red washi tape in three different locations. I also used multiple buttons. What a fun little challenge!
For the left side of my layout, I used the sketch from the Frosted Designs - Friday challenge and Stuck?!Sketches Jan 1st. The challenge is to use the sketch below and add mist, ink or paint. I used white paint on the wooden sentiment and around the edge of the blue sign. I also used in to ink the edges of the striped paper and both tags, although those are a little hard to see. I did some misting on the tags originally, but did NOT like the outcome. I'm still experimenting with the misting thing.
