Eskimo and Butterfly Kisses - New Layout

Hello my scrappy friends! I can't believe Halloween is days away and there is only 8 more Saturday's until Christmas.....good grief where did the year go? We spent the weekend looking for a reliable used vehicle and found one (at least I hope it's reliable). I didn't find too much scrappy time, but I did finish this double page layout last night after the kiddo and hubby went to bed.

I have been giving Maddie "eskimo kisses" since she was born and she has started "kissing" me back by rubbing noses. Daddy has been giving Maddie "butterfly kisses" for about the same amount of time. He blinks and lets his lashes hit hers. She now does it back to him and it is very cute to see.

For the left side of the layout I used sketch #104 from Inspired Blueprints. I mirrored the sketch and used my single photo at the top instead of the bottom.

I also played along with Scrap Around the World #6 Challenge.  The challenge was to get inspiration from the mood board below. I tried to use vintage colors and feel with whites, creams, and a hint of pink. I also used tried to incorporate the modern aspect with flag banners and the hexagon title. I included flowers to mimic the botannical flowers and added textured bricks to mimic the checked tile.

I also played along with the Boy Meets Girl - Oct. 15th challenge "about a girl". The challenge was to use texture. I used layered papers, distressed edges, modeling paste with chalk, chipboard, paper banners on twine and 3-D flowers. Lots of textures here and it is all "about a girl", myself and little sweet pea!

Finally, I played along with Use Your Words - Final word challenge - LOVE. I am sad to see this is the last challenge they will be posting, so I wanted to play along. I stamped the word LOVE in black on the upper right hand side of the page.

For the right side of my layout I used a sketch from Prima for the October BAP: I used Prima for everything except a couple of CTMH stamps, an unknown journaling block from my stash and Tim Holtz distressing ink. The papers, chipboard, butterflies, and stickers came from the Prima Lyric Collection.
I also played along with Colorful Creations - Creative Monthly challenge for October. The challenge is to mat a photo at least two times. I matted the photo of Daddy and Maddie three times, once with solid white with distressed ink, and twice more with patterned papers that were distressed and then inked.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Materials used - paper - Prima; chipboard - Prima; letter stickers - Prima; butterflies - Prima; ink - Tim Holtz and CTMH; stamps - CTMH; brads - Prima; banner - Basic Grey; flowers - Prima;stickers - Prima.

Thanks for visiting!
