January LOAD #50 & 51 - Christmas Greetings

Happy Saturday! Someone has 4 teeth coming in and been crying and fussy all day. Poor little thing. This is my January LOAD (LayOut A Day) #50 & #51 (19 & 20 traditional) over at Let's Scrap. This is Maddie this Christmas...isn't she just too cute?

The left side was made for the Design Team Challenge #54 over at Let's Scrap.

The challenge is to create a Christmas layout, use some sort of distressing technique, whether it is sanding, inking or any other distressing technique you know of, use 2 different colored cardstock, 5 different pieces of pattern paper, at least one sticker, die-cut or rub-on, and lastly, a small strip of paper, if you don't have one, you are allowed to use a border sticker or even a ribbon.

I used 5 patterned papers (the green vertical strip, the red photo mat, the brown horizontal paper strip, the striped horizontal strip, and the green photo corner created with my Quickutz). The two colored cardstocks are the yellow background and the cream strip punched with a border punch. My distressing was Goldrush ink I used around the edges of all the papers and the border punch strip (this is hard to see in the picture). My sticker is a cardstock sticker with the title "Christmas Greetings" and I used gold ribbon behind the sticker and blue ribbon horizontally at the bottom.

You also have to use a Let's Scrap sketch, so I used the following sketch: 7-11-12

For the right side of the page I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy - January Week 3.  Here is the right side:

Here is the sketch:

I also played along with Colorful Creations - Say it with words challenge for January: to use the word blessed.  I used the word blessed on the right side of the Layout on the office tab and also in the little journaling block where I described why we are so blessed to have this little one in our lives.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Materials Used:  paper - Bazzill, Basic Grey; ribbon - unknown; paper clip, journaling note and chipboard sticker and stickers - Basic Grey; rub-ons - My Minds Eye; pop dots - Forever in time; trimmer - Creative memories; quickutz - Photo corners; border punch - Martha Stewart.

Thanks for visiting!  There is still time to join in the challenges above!
