Make A Note of this Moment - New Layout

I hope everyone had a fabulous Father's Day. Ours was fairly quiet as I worked all weekend. I should be working right now, but instead I spent the last hour finishing this page of Juan with Maddie when she was just 38 days old. It was so hard to put her to sleep. I remember that she would cry and cry.  Juan would put her on his chest and tap her back in rhythm to his cadence of, "Aye, aye, aye, aye. Aye, aye, aye, aye."  It would never fail to put both of them to sleep.  Here is my layout:

I used this sketch and mood board from Scrap Around the World - Challenge #2. I used the sketch and my inspiration from the mood board was the camera, the round shape of the lense that I replicated in the journaling and embellishment elements.  I also used wooden elements (the two hearts) and the little negative strips.

I also played along with the Scrap Our Stash - June challenge; to create a layout about a male and use at least 5 brads.  I used six brads, including the camera brad.

Another challenge I joined with this layout was Scrappy Friends - Scrappin N Happy - June challenge; to create a layout with three pattern papers, twine and washi tape.  I used three pattern papers in the background and the scrap strips below the main photo.  I used twine around the journaling circles and the washi tape is the light blue used in four places on my layout.

The challenge over at the Twinery is an anything goes challenge. All you have to do is use twine - DONE!

Finally, I played along with Colorful Creations - Use your Stash challenge. This month the challenge was to use six scraps and in honor of the dads out there, use masculine colors. It does not have to be a boy/man page, but pull out those rich hues, blues, and neutrals!  Yes, this is a layout about my little girl and her daddy.  I used blues, oranges and neutral colors to help pull out the orange in her little Halloween onsie.  I used 12 strips of scrap pattern papers to create the base border of the main photo.

Here are a few close-up photos of my layout:

Materials used:  paper - MME; layered stickers - MME; twine - MME; camera brad - Eyelet Outlet; banner - MME; washi tape - unknown; ribbon - MME; wooden hearts - Freckled Fawn; brads - MME; stickers - MME; journaling stickers - Making Memories; transparency - MME.

Thanks for visiting!

And not just any brads; beautiful brads perfectly matching the colours of this gorgeous LO! I like it very much, both because I like the composition and the colours that are not so common with baby layouts.
Thanks for playing along with Scrap Our Stash for the challenge!
