Ducky Love - New Layout

Happy Weekend my Scrappy Friends! I have been drooling over the layouts over at CSI (Color Stories Inspiration) for months, but there challenge is so outside my comfort zone that I have not played along. I decided tonight to try!  Color challenges are never easy for me and all the other requirements seem intense. I had these photos of Maddie in her sink bath from when she was just 42 days old that I have been trying to scrap, so I decided these would do. Here is my layout:

Here is Case File No. 74 challenge over at CSI:

I used all the colors; yellow background papers, pink fushia border, journaling and the words on the background papers; white borders on the photos; green journaling, strip behind photos and stitching; black stamping ink and journaling pen.  Evidence I used is ruffles on the ribbon below the photos and something woven - the yellow "pretty" label on the middle photo.  Testimony I used was the inspiration words - cute, little, and bright. I used all three of these in my journaling and underlined each word to highlight it. Journaling reads, "At 42 days old you are so little that even your puj tub seems to swallow you up. You are so cute with your ducky washcloth covering almost your entire body. When we give you a bath, your bright eyes watch everything although having your hair washed is still your favorite part."

For the left side of my layout I used Scrap Africa's sketch #18:

For the right side of my layout I used My Scraps & More sketch #32:

I also played along with The Studio Challenges - June challenge is stitching. I used stitching along the envelope lip on the left and the word "love" on the right page.

Finally, I played along with the Love to Scrap challenge - use rubber stamping. I used CTMH stamps for the two different circle images on both pages.

Here are a couple of close-up photos:

Materials used:  Paper - Creative Imaginations, Prima, and unknown; stamps - CTMH; ink - CTMH; rubber duckies - Paper Wizard; stitching - Bazzill in Stitches; banner - MME; chipboard letters - Making Memories; woven label - Basic Grey; journaling block - unknown; ribbon - unknown; staples - unknown.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Aw, those cute little duckies caught my eye on Scrap Africa. What a sweet layout you have made! And it was a good idea to use two different sketches to make a 2-page layout. I should try that sometime.

Hi Jessica, really cute layout, I love how you have used stitching both to bring the papers together and to write the title! Thank you for playing with us at The Studio Challenges!!!
