New Layout - Silly Selfie Challenge

Happy Saturday!

I finished ANOTHER layout with recent photos from quarentine! We havent't been able to visit my best friend and her daughter for months and have missed so many planned activities. So they challenged dear daughter and I to a Silly Selfie Photo contest.  We jumped into action and immediately went out from to Maddie's favorite tree and started sanpping away. We are finding little bits of fun and laughter in unique ways.

I played alsong with CSI Case File No. 322.  Here is the case:

I used the color scheme peach, orange, off-white, barbie pink and navy. The evidence I used was: I inadvertantly ended up with a bit of green for the palm fronds. I used a pattern paper with foliage, paint for the chipboard, stamps, rub-ons, I cut the pattern paper to slide my photo in, phrase stickers, washi tape, and the same font alpha in different colors. For my testimony I documented the four most interesting things about my subject and documented a summer memory.

I also played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup; 26 days of alphabet inspired challenges. Y is for You & ME!

I also played along with Lasting Memories Challenge LM#503 Sparkle. I used glitter washi tape and glitter stickles for the "too" at the bottom.

I used paper from My Minds Eye, alphabets from October Afternoon, chipboard from Scrapmatts, stamp/ink from CTMH, rub-ons from DaisyDs, and phrase stickers from MME.

Thanks for visiting! 2 more alphabet layouts to go!

New Layout - Virtual Field Day

Happy Friday - yet another weekend has arrived!

I finished this fun layout on RECENT photos of dear daughter and the virtual field day we participated in for her end of the year "quarantine" activities. She was so disappointed to miss all the end of the year fun and was really missing her friends. When Coach Fuller sent out a "virtual" field day option, we knew we had to help her join in the fun. We used household items and let he pick 4 different field day events and both her father and I participated with her as well. It was different, but fun.

For this layout, I played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup; 26 days of alphabet inspired challenges. O is for "outside". I was inspired to create this layout of our "outside" virtual field day.

I used a page kit from Out on A Limb Scrapbooking and then modified significantly to work with my photos. I added lots of inking and dots/dashes on the die-cuts. I used stamps and ink from CTMH and PhotoPlay. I used a journaling block from Basic Grey.

Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your weekend.  I hope to be back soon with another layout - only 3 letters left to complete the 26 day Alphabet soup challenge (K U and Y)!

I used a page kit from Paper Wizard and alterned it to work with my photos, and I added lots of extra photos. I added alpha stickers from Basic Grey, stamps from Photoplay, ink from CTMH, and a random journaling block from my stash.

New Layout - Let's Play

Happy Tuesday my scrappy friends, it is almost Hump Day!

I'm still creating up a storm. It's one of the biggest pros of this whole quarantine extravaganza. This is a layout of DD and her BFF climbing top to bottom on the super fun park by our house. This was less than two years ago! They've grown so much since then.

I played along with Paper Issues - June challenge "Hit the Course" FORE! If you have golf photos to scrap, then here is your chance. If golf just isn’t your thing, then share those pages about school, gym activities or even the playground. Get creative and share how you were inspired!  I dug out these playgroun photos and went to work!

I used a kit from Close to my Heart "Central Park". I colored a couple of the balloons with water colors, stamps and ink from CTMH.  Simple, but done.

After breakfast, lunch and a couple of games with the Hubby, I spent the afternoon creating this gardening layout with pics from 2018!

I played along with Paper Issues June Challenge - Spring in Your Step. A layout featuring Spring photos, dance photos or even walking/excercise photos. Let's get one last burst of Spring before summer arrives.  Nothing says Spring like planting our backyard garden!

New Layout - Sizzlin Summer Fun

Happy Saturday!

My hubby and I tried to fix our cooktop today and instead, it blew up; literally. So now we have to buy a new one and it's a special order, of course, that won't be here for 3 weeks!  That's sure going to put a damper on our meals.

This evening I finished this CoVID layout about all the grilling my hubby has been doing the past couple of months. He's always loved grilling, but he's been perfecting his technique multiple times a week.

For this layout, I played along with Paper Issues June challenge - Grill Skills

I used a kit from Paper Wizard and added a journaling block from Recollections, stamps from Photoplay and CTMH, in from CTMH, and chipboad from October Afternoon.

Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your weekend and stay safe!

New Layout - Give Me a Brake...

Happy almost Friday,

I've been working on this layout for about 2 days now. I bought a bike during CoVID and encouraged my mom to do the same. Unfortunately, they were sold out all over town so my husband offered to loan her his. She tried it out, but it was too tall for her. She tried to ride just a little ways and then fell, instantly breaking her arm. Due to CoVID, I had to drop her off at the ER vestibule and wait for a call. 5 hours later I learned that she crushed her wrist and needed surgery to install a plate. That started a crazy ripple of specialty doctors, CoVID testing, a holiday, and lots of pain as the surgery continued to be delayed due to the backup of CoVID patients. What was recommended for surgery within 2-3 days took 6 days. I can't even imagine what the poor patients going through CoVID alone are dealing with. It is so sad.

I played along with some fun challenges for this layout. First, I played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup; 26 Days of Alphabet challenges. X is for X-Ray!

I also played along with Lasting Memories #501 Confetti. This challenge is to use mist/splatters, sequins, enamel dots, a shaker element, etc. to create some confetti on your layout.  I used actually confetti spread under the mesh on both sides. It's a little hard to see in the photo, so here's a close-up. It's sparkle confetti.

To create this layout I used a kit from GoToTreasureBox.com. I added stickers and thickers from Sticko, date stickers from 7Gypsies, a fussy cut bike from Paper Loft, number tags from DaisyDs, stamps and ink from CTMH, and a misc. journaling block from my stash.

New Layout - Home Sweet Home

Happy day my scrappy friends,

After another Monday, I was able to play a bit this evening and create this layout of my daughter at 21 months walking across our window ledge.

I played along with More than Words Challenge - Hello & Doors & Windows
Do you greet a friend with a HELLO? Maybe you’d like to welcome a new baby, say hi to a relative or introduce a new pet? Or maybe just a simple Hello title works for you. We need to see in your project how our word inspired you. If it isn’t obvious in your work, then please explain it in your post.
We often welcome friends at our doors and DOORS and WINDOWS can symbolise new opportunities or new directions in our lives. We want to see doors and/or windows on your project!

I used a door and a window and photos of my daughter walking along the window ledge, greeting the world, our neighbors and the day.

I also played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup - 26 Days of alphabet inspired challenges. W is for Window Walking.

For this layout I used a kit from Paper Wizard, stamps and ink from CTMH, bling from want 2 scrap, chipboard from Maya Road, paint from Apple Barrel, and paper from Simple Stories.

Thanks so much for visiting!

New Layout - Daily Walk

Yep, it's me once again,

I completed yet another layout today - I'm feeling the creative juices! Old photos of my dear daughter on her daily walk with her grandparents.

I used a sketch from Paper Issues - Sketch 1 for June.  Here is the sketch.

I used really old stash for this layout. Paper from MME, chipboard from Teresa Collins, date sticker from MME, stamps and inks from CTMH, twine from The Twinery, and gems from The Paper Studio.

Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - New Glasses

Happy Sunday my scrappy friends!

This layout is of my daughter's first pair of glasses last year and a bunch of the options she considered. Such a big change in her life and something I wanted to document.

I played along with CSI Case File No. 321. Here is the case to solve:

To solve the case I used all the colors. My evidence was a solid white background, floral patterns, enamel dots, eye glasses, plant embellishments (leaves), and watercolors. My testimony was journaling in a line at the bottom of my layout, as a border.

I also played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup, 26 days of alphabet inspired challengesd. N is for New (new glasses, new look).

I used a page kit from Out on a Limb and modifiied it significantly. I used amazing watercolors and water color pen from CTMH, stamps and ink from CTMH, paper embellishments from Illustrated Faith, rub-ons from DaisyD's, and misc. epoxy dots and arrows from my stash.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Thanks for visiting.

New Layout - Day at the Zoo

Happy Saturday!

I went on a 10 mile bike ride this morning and then an hour later, my 8 year old begged me to go out on a ride with her. We went another mile! Then, I scrapped the rest of the day. This is the only layout I completed. Although I'm scrapping more than ever, I seem to be taking longer on every layout I do. Anyone out there feeling that way?

This layout used photos from 2013 and our day at the Dallas Zoo. Maddie loves the carousel and thoroughly enjoys feeding the giraffes.

I played along with a couple of fun challenges. First, I solved the CSI Case File No. 323. Here is the case:

To solve the case I used lots of really old Teresa Collins stash. For my product clues I used older papers that match the peach and teal blues in the scene, I used papers with muted colors, older striped paper for the background, ornate decorations with the photo chipboard and carousel, border punches, carnival themed elements with the carousel, and jewels. For my design clues I included layered decorative borders and edges, ornate bits and pieces, circles and lines, a bigt cut file (the carousel) and movement with the circles. I was trying to relay the feeling of "round and round" similar to a carousel. The ornate bits and pieces came from super fun Scrapmatts that I received as a prize pack from CSI (thanks again!).

I also played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup - 26 days of Alphabet inspired challenges. J is for Jewels

For this page I used mainly all Teresa Collins product - papers, stickers, alphabets, borders, banners, twine, and journaling block. I used zoo stickers from Jolees, a carousel cut from my Cricut, misc. jewels/gems from my stash, and chipboard from Scrapmatts.

Thank you for visiting!

New Layout - Zoo

It's FRIIIIIIIDDDDDAAAAY! Yeah!

I am so thankful we have a couple days to destress and rejuvenate for the next week.

This layout is one of our numerous trips to the Dallas Zoo. We have had a membership for years and used it regularly prior to CoVID. This was the day that Maddie became scared of feeding the birds. One got a bit aggressive and took the little cup out of her hand and pinched her had a bit as it happened. She was convinced it bit her and never forgave that bird or any other.

I played along with a couple different challenges for this layout.  First, I played along with Lasting Memories Challenge #500 - It's a Celebration Week 1 - Bingo.  Here is the Bingo card. I completed Bingo with column 3.  I used 5 or more patterned papers, the zoo die cut, the sticker circle, free space, and the arrow chipboards.

I also played along with Scrap with Stacy's June Scrappy Friends Reveal. June is a Tic Tach Toe Challenge. I used column 3: hearts, layered embellishments (the arrows), and a one word title (zoo). Here is the tic tac toe board:

June 2020 Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

     Punch or
     Die Cut

Layered Embellishments

Finally, I played along with Paper Issues Alphabet Soup - 26 Days of Alphabet inspired challenges. Z is for Zoo and Zig Zag!  Come over and play along with these fun challenges.

For this layout I used a sketch from PageMaps from April 2019.

I used old papers from my stash including really old Little Yellow Bicycle. I used enamel hearts from Bella Blvd, date sticker from 7gypsies, layered chipboard stickers from MME, rub-on from CTMH, quote stickers from 7gypsies, 3D bird stickers from Little B, journaling block from Recollections, die cut tab from my stash, twine from the Twinery, and random tickets and rick-rack from my stash.

Thanks for visiting! Have a scrappy weekend.

New Layout - Monotony

It's already hump day! Wash...rinse.....repeat, the days are blurring together. I heard someone say the other day - there are no longer days of the week; just "yesterday," "today," and "tomorrow." I agree 100%.

I'm trying to weave in scrapping more recent events along with my random catch up from years past. I want to capture these memories while they are happening and journal these important stories. This year my scrap books look very different than years past. Pulling out the joy and documenting the touch times are extremely important to me.

This is a layout from about two weeks ago, another long empty afternoon where our fun family activities like the Arboretum, the Dallas Zoo, the Perot, mini-golf, etc. were out of the question due to quarentine. What better time to teach our daughter to play the full version Monopoly? She has Youth Monopoly, but she wated to learn the "real" game. I'll admit, this layout had a little to do with the desire to teach her the longest game in the history of board games. We spent the next 4 hours playing Monopoly with her for the first time. She loved it and ended up winning the entire game. It was awesome watching her calculate "change" in her head and do the math herself. I sometimes forget that she's only 8 years old. She's so wise beyond her years, but still such a little kid; an amazing mixture.

I played along wtih Paper Issues 52 Friday Favorites. I documented a layout of our favorite thing from our week. Scrapping current photos and activites in the here and now.

I used a kit from Paper Wiz and added stamps/ink from CTMH and Photo Play and a journaling block from Recollections.

New Layout - Splash Pad

Hello friends!

My week started out stressful, so I was super excited to wrap up my day and start playing with my stash. I finished this layout of our local Splash Pad; a place we visited often that summer.

I played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup; 26 days of Alphabet inspired challenges.  S is for Splash Pad!

I also played along with Archi-Scraps June Challenge - to use a dome!

I used a kit from Out on a Limb Scrapbooking and then added my own twist to work with my photos. I used stamps and ink from CTMH, a sticker from CocoDaisy, and a misc journaling block from my stash. I aslo topped the water and title with Stickles.

Stay cool! Thanks for visiting.

New Layout - A Walk in the Park

Happy Sunday!

I'm really NOT ready to start another week. I have been crafting some today and finished this layout of DD at the elementary school playground in our neighborhood. She loved climbing on the equipment, exploring the garden, and putting everything possible in her mouth. I just had to add the photo of me physically removing something inappropriate that she chose to eat! :O

I played along with Paper Issues Alphabet Soup - 26 Days of Alphabet inspired challenges. P is for Playground and Park!

I used a kit from CTMH and added stamps and ink also from CTMH.

Thanks for visiting! Happy weekend!

New Layout - BFF in a Tree

Howdy my scrappy friends!

I spend most all day scrapping and ONLY finished this one layout. I think I'm slowing down. This is my DD's favorite tree in our front yard. She has loved climbing it for years; so much that she named it - IRREBECCA! She loves climbing it with her friends, especially her Best Friend!

I played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup; 26 days of Alphabet inspired challenges. T is for Tree.

I used a kit from GoToTreasureBox.com and add background paper, stamps, ink, and glitter gems from CTMH. I also used stickers from K&Company and a journaling block from Making Memories.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend!

New Layout - Mother's Day Corona

Happy Friday!

I'm sooooo glad the weekend's here! It was a really long, emotional week - so I am ready for a bit of crafting.

This layout is actually with recent photos from Mother's Day, this year! I've had that desire to scrap more current time due to all the stuff happening in our world. Covid has cancelled/changed many things and Mother's Day was just another; but I wanted to document the way we were able to celebrate.

I'm playing along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup; 26 days of alphabet inspired challenges.  M is for Mother. What's better than Mother's Day!

I used a page kit from Paper Wizard, aren't the die cuts adorable and so perfect for my layout?  I modified it to fit my photos (and all the extra ones).  I added stamps/ink from CTMH, a journaling block from my stash, strips from the brunch menu, and stickles on the corona virus symbol.

Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Dancing in the Rain

Happy day to all my scrappy friends!

Another day, another week. I rode 8.75 miles this morning and I'm exhausted.

I finished a layout late last night of DD in the rain at 2 years old. It was more "sprinkling" than "raining" but it was a perfect excuse to put on her rain gear and splash in the puddles!

I played along with Paper Issues Alphabet Soup - 26 days of alphabet inspired challenges. This layout is R is for Rain!

I used a random kit I bought at convention a long time ago and added Wrights rick rack, and twinkle drops from Queen and Co.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you are staying healthy and safe with all the protests and Covid. Prayers for change and peace to all.
