Project Life - Week 44

Welcome to Project Life 2014! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 2 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital kit on shutterfly. This digital version is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE. I will hopefully be posting my 2013 pages soon.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Wednesday - This afternoon Maddie wanted to go in the backyard to play. She wanted to play with the rope still out back from her birthday party and the chairs. She was trying to tie a knot to make the rope go from her sandbox to the chair. She doesn't know how to tie a knot, so it kept coming loose. She is so stinkin' adorable. This evening Maddie and I made Halloween oreo Mummy's for her class party tomorrow. She put the eyes on herself.

Thursday - Maddie's class had their Halloween party today. They trick-or-treated the staff members. Maddie loves her Dragon costume. This evening, she was excited to show us the Dracula teeth she got today, too funny.

Friday - Today is Halloween! Maddie was so excited to trick-or-treat. We left at about 6pm so it would still be light outside. We went up our street and around the block. By that time it was dark and Maddie was tired. She received plenty of candy and was very excited to go home and hand out candy to the other kids. It was a fun evening, but we missed Ashlyn and Jakob going with us. They were with their dad this year. At about 9pm I went to DFW to pick up Aunt Shanny! She came for a visit to celebrate my birthday!

Saturday - Aunt Shanny brought Maddie super cool birthday presents - a Whoopee cushion, silly string, and silly putty. She immediately emptied the entire can of silly string, once she figured out how to hold down the tip. She shot it all over the place, including on Mama and Aunt Shanny. She also thought the Whoopee cushion was hilarious and used it about a million times. Great gifts! Update: Maddie used the whoopee cushion so much that it shredded after about a month! Today Maddie, Aunt Shanny and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo. We had a great time seeing all the animals and Maddie loved the fish, gators, and snakes, of course. We had corn dogs for lunch and then Aunt Shanny almost lost her head to a Pelican! Maddie got a glitter tatoo and FINALLY fed the birds - it's been months since her "biting" episode. We even got to see both baby elephants out playing with their herds. They are both about 1-1/2 years old now. It was so much fun to have Aunt Shanny with us today.

Sunday - Maddie LOVES band aids and demands one anytime she thinks she has the slightest "owie." She's gone through an entire box of band aids without shedding a drop of blood!

Monday - Maddie is so strong, she doesn't even really have to try to hold herself on the bar. She almost looks bored in this photo as she waits for Coach to tell her she can drop!
