Project Life - Week 52

Welcome to Project Life 2013! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 2 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital kit on shutterfly (hopefully Olive once it has been released), find more info at http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog. This digital version uses Shutterfly and is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) - the last for 2013 -WARNING PHOTO HEAVY:

Wednesday - Christmas Day, what a wonderful day. We were sad to miss a few family members, but we were thankful for the ones that did come by. Maddie was an absolute doll and spent the whole day playing and unwrapping presents. She wasn't in any hurry to tear through them and often paused for a couple of hours to play with a toy before asking for another. In fact, there were 2 or 3 presents that she never did open. It was fun having both her brother and sister together in one place. By the end of the day she was exhausted and fell asleep on her little chair. We are very very blessed! I also took lots of cute videos of the morning.  Here, here, and here.

Thursday - We took advantage of the sunny weather to show Tiffany the new Children's Garden at the Arboretum. We didn't know there was an entire other side that we had never explored. Maddie had a ball, as usual. We spent the day playing with Maddie and her new toys. She especially likes her bees and honeycomb with the little chopsticks. She can't quite manage the chopsticks yet, but I'm sure it won't be long before she masters it.

Friday - Maddie, Aunt Vanessa, Ashlyn and I took a rode trip to Oklahoma to the Scrappin' Pad. There we met up with Aunt Angie, Kayla, Aunt Shanny, Miss Sabrina, Lauren and Aunt Shanny's mom and sister. The girls were quite the handful today. It took almost 2 hours to get Maddie to nap and I was having a serious meltdown. Thankfully Aunt Shanny finally got her down. This evening we exchanged presents and then got the girls settled with popcorn and the movie Brave before bed. How cute are the all together? This will hopefully be a fantastic weekend!

Saturday - We painted the girls' finger nails. They were quite thrilled. It was the first time Maddie has ever had hers painted. She is also having a blast with the other girls. This morning I found her in Lauren's bed! Keeping these girls busy has been an all day job. They only stay occupied for about 10 minutes at a time. Aunt Shanny and Miss Carrie took pity on Aunt Angie and I and took the girls outside for a bit of running. The girls had a blast and we could hear them laughing. The girls have been great about sharing everything. Maddie was sharing her new Doodle with Lauren. They were working together beautifully. They all had a bit of a tumble party this evening on Aunt Vanessa! All the girls thought dog piling on her was just the best thing ever. There was so much laughing and giggling that you couldn't help but laugh! They are really having a fun time together.

Sunday - Our last day at the Scrappin' Pad. The other ladies would not agree to photos so we only got a group shot of the girls together and then a couple of Maddie and Ashlyn with Mrs. Sabrina. She told them to make silly faces and the last photo was the result. It was a long drive home and Maddie upchucked everywhere. She ate quite a bit of fruit and then we gave her apple juice. I typically cut her juice with water and didn't even think about it....so it was pure juice. She took one sip and guzzled the entire glass in about 10 seconds flat. About 30 minutes later, everything came right back up. Poor thing, we were on the highway and she's never pucked, so she was quite in shock. I pulled over and we were trying to clean up the sweet girl in 32 degree weather outside. She was shivering and crying and all we had were baby wipes. Once we got her in clean clothes with a blankie she was ok again. Rough end to a fun weekend.

Monday - Back from Oklahoma, Tiffany was reading books to Maddie.

Tuesday - Maddie spent the afternoon with Nana so Mommy and Daddy could celebrate New Year's Eve early. We saw "Wolf of Wallstreet" and then had dinner at Patrizios. It was a nice afternoon. We were all asleep by 10pm! Did you notice Maddie is wearing the red boa with her firefighter outfit? Silly goose.

It was a WONDERFUL and BLESSED year!  WELCOME 2014
