Project Life - Week 19

Welcome to Project Life 2013! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 1 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital kit on shutterfly (hopefully Olive once it has been released), find more info at http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog. This digital version uses Shutterfly and is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week):

Tuesday - Maddie found a bottle of glue in one of my scrapping drawers. She immediately said, "Gooo" and then took it to her dolly and began to feed her like it was a bottle. She is such a funny girl. I love her imagination.

Wednesday - Another new recipe from Pinterest - Herbed Chicken Legs and Potatoes from Food, Family & Finds. This was another slow cooker recipe. It was good, one I will probably make again.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon browning sauce (Kitchen Bouquet)
  • 8 fresh chicken legs
  • 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 8 ingredients.
  2. Toss chicken legs in the mixture and place in a 5-7 qt slow cooker.
  3. Pour the chicken broth in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 – 5 hours, until tender.

Friday - Maddie loves her alphabet puzzle and can tell you every letter and then put it in its spot. She struggles with getting Q to fit and struggles saying the letters F, H, L, and S. She knows the sounds each makes, but struggles with the letter itself.  I recorded a video of her HERE, not bad for a 20 month old.

Saturday - We celebrated an early Mother's Day with Maria and a belated birthday with Adam by having brunch at The Nodding Donkey. We gave Maria a blender for Mother's Day and Maddie was only too happy to help her "op" open it.

Sunday - Mother's Day was a great day. Not only am I Mom to a wonderful little girl, I have a terrific husband that hosted a Mother's day bar-b-que for my mother, sister and her kids. This morning a was gifted with an awesome drink dispenser in which we made strawberry lemonade today. Maddie was inthralled by the peanuts and wanted to put all of them on the fireplace. See the video HERE.  We had a great time this afternoon watching the kids play together. They had a blast in the sandbox and on the swingset. We gave Mom a photo of the three kids together, something she has wanted since Maddie was born. It was a lovely day.

Thanks for visiting!
