Project Life Tuesday - Week 39

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2011! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay awhile. I'm Jessica and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

Don't worry, I'm not leaving traditional scrapbooking behind. This just gives me the opportunity to focus my scrapbooking on trips and things that are important to me right now and not get all bogged down with every birthday, dinner, and holiday that comes along.

Each Tuesday, I will post my pictures/journaling from the previous week. Project Life Tuesday was created by Jessica Turner over at The Mom Creative and she hosts a linky for readers to link up their pictures. So if you want to join in or want to see others POTW, just click the Project Lift button at the top of this post.

And finally, my POTW:

Saturday - I love this photo of Juan and Madalynne, they are so precious.

Sunday - We made Maddie's footprints today for her monthly frame, we received her social security card, and we had a slight incident with her belly button...Juan was kissing her tummy after he changed her diaper, as he always does, and his necklace got caught on her belly button tag and pulled it off completely. She definitely cried, but there really wasn't any blood. He felt TERRIBLE about it, but we called the pediatrician and the nurse told us not to worry. It was a busy day!

Monday - Just to make sure we insert a piece of real life... she does quite a bit of this everyday as well. She tends to calm quickly, but she gets upset just as quickly. Usually it's when she is hungry or wet or thinks she is hungry.

Tuesday - Daddy loves to hold Madalynne and just stare at her.  Usually he is telling her some random story or mimicing what he thinks she is thinking at the moment, mostly from a comedic standpoint.

Wednesday - Mom came over today to help me with Madalynne. We spent most of the day, between all the feedings and changings, setting up mini photoshoots. Mom made all sorts of cute little hair bands, skirts and misc. props.

Thursday - Today Madalynne is two weeks old. We bought her this stuffed animal to take monthly photos next to. She obviously can't sit up yet, hence the prone position.

Friday - I finally got Juan to take some photos of Maddie and I that I like. He edited this one for me and I really like how it turned out.

Thanks for visiting me again this week!  If any of you mothers out there have advice for a new mommy who is very sleep deprived, I'd love to hear it!

Congratulations on your baby. Sleep deprivation advice, huh? Nap when they do, get someone to take the baby out of the house so you can sleep guilt free - grandma's are great for that. And so are daddys. Otherwise, if you drink coffee and it doesn't affect the baby if you are nursing - lots of coffee! After my second baby I learned to like coffee. : )

She is just too adorable, Jessica! Love that crying photo...the real world! Beautiful photography too. And poor Daddy...I am sure his heart was broken over the cord incident....I notice he isn't wearing the necklace while he is holding her!
My advice: Sleep whenever she is sleeping. I used to try and clean and make foods and do wash and all that while my babies slept, and was so so exhausted. I can still remember that overwhelming fatigue after 37-35 years! Let everything else go for now and sleep when she does. When she is awake you can throw in a load of wash. Everything else will wait. Let Mom help out with the stuff you feel has to be done. This early part will end---trust me. Blink twice and she will be as big as that adorable elephant! Just enjoy her.
