Guest Designer @ CSI Case File 394

I'm up this month as a Guest Detective at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.  

I was inspired by the scheme to pull out my "school" products, but I didn't want to complete a "school" layout. I got creative and decided to create a layout about my daughter's summer camp experience at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. I solved Case File No. 394 using the color scheme: Orange, Aqua, Chartreuse, and Chocolate Brown. For my evidence I used woodgrain alphas, hexagons, school-themed items (microscope, beakers, and overall science motif), globes, labels, a spiral punch along the right of the photos, and puffy alpha stickers. For my testimony I underlined my journaling on Elle's Studio lables. 

This was a fun and versitile case file and I thoroughly enjoyed playing along. Join CSI this month and solve the case yourself!

New Layout - Elf Delivery

Happy day to all my scrappy friends,

I'm up today over at Lasting Memories as a Guest Designer August. This is my layout for their 4th monthly challenge. This month is all about special events. Their 4th challenge for the month #512 is Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa.  I chose Christmas, and delivery of Christmas cheer to my office. Every year we make yummies to share with my co-workers. Maddie was so excited to dress up in her Elf Jammies for the delivery. She ended up getting candy from about half of the people we delivered to.

For this layout I used paper from Paper Pizazz, die-cuts from My Mind's Eye, tag from Scrap Your Trip, chipboard Scrapmatts painted wtih gold paint from Folk Art, 3D stickers from Jolee's boutique, letters from cocoadaisy and BasicGrey, stamps and ink from CTMH, and twine from The Twinery.

New Layout - First Day of School

Hello all my scrappy friends,

I'm up today over at Lasting Memories as a Guest Designer August. This is my layout for their 3rd monthly challenge. This month is all about special events. Their 3rd challenge for the month #511 is Back to School, Halloween, Thangksgiving.  I chose Back to School, the first day of DD's 3's class. She was so excited to go to school every day and loved playing with all her friends. It was a Mother's Day out program, but was perfect to give her the socialization she craved.

For this layout I used paper from ScrapbookCustoms.com, die-cuts from Paper Wizard, tags from Paperie, flag clips from Studio Calico, 3D stickers from K&Company, letters from cocoadaisy, thickers from American Crafts, an arrow sticker from Mrs. Grossman's, a journaling block, stamps and ink from CTMH, and misc. ribbon from my stash. I used my typewriter from WeRMemoryKeepers to give it that "school" look.

New Layout - Mother's Day

Hello all my scrappy friends,

I'm up today over at Lasting Memories as a Guest Designer August. This is my layout for the 2nd monthly challenge. This month is all about special events. Their 2nd challenge for the month #510 is Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, 4th of July/Canada Day.  I chose Mother's Day, one of my favorite holidays of the year. Not only do I have the most amazing mother, but I became a mother 8 years ago and it has been the most amazing journey of my life. My daughter has taught me things I never could have imagined and added such love and laughter to my life!

For this layout I used paper from ScrapbookCustoms.com, die-cuts from Paper Wizard, bling from Want2Scrap and Recollections, a journaling block from BasicGray, mini word stickers from MyMindsEye, and misc. frame and sentiment stickers from my stash. I included the card from my hubby in the pocket on the right.

New Layout - Happy Anniversary

Happy day to all my scrappy friends,

I was asked to be a Guest Designer over at Lasting Memories for my Sweet Memories layout below.  

Here is my first Guest Designer contribution for July: #509 Anniversary.  I loved the shiny silver for the heart. I also included a card that my husband gave me in a Photo Mounting Cleeve from Creative Memories. I also used die-cuts from Out on a Limb, bling from Want2Scrap, stamps and ink from CTMH, and cork thickers from American Crafts.

New Layout - All Aboard

Happy day to all my scrappy friends!

Today I am excited to share that I am a Special Investigator (Guest Designer) over at C.S.I. I just love all the amazing creations this design team and community create. I hope you sneak over and check out their "investigations" and "solve" one for yourself!

This is my take on  Case File No. 326 for July! I used the scene and scheme to solve the case. I started with older K&Company and Creative Memories papers that match the colors in the scene, yellow, green, and gold throughout my layout. My product cluese included: older papers, textured/embossed papers (the word paper has embossed gold text), I used metal accents (the metal quote and the metal rims that resemble railroad crossing signs), I used ribbon along the bottom of the textured word paper, I used stick-pins for the poles of my signs, I used very old Reminisce rub-ons that I was surprised still worked so well (the signs, the title, the "on track", and the all aboard), I used never used stamps for the arrow banner/tag at the top on either side of my "all aboard" rub-on, and I used the magic number 4 (4 photos). For my Design Clues I used a stamped banner for my little "all aboard" title at the top. I also used the Scene as inspiration to compose my layout. I created layering of photos, paper, ribbon and other elements set on top other elements to mimic the stacking of the candy jars and books.  I hope you'll join us this month for any of the 3 cases!

I also played along with Paper Issues July challenge - Happy Fourth - 1,2,3...4, in honor of the 4th of July, create a layout with four photos. 

To create this page I used: paper K&Company and Creative Memories, rub-ons from Reminisce, stamps and ink from CTMH, a misc. die-cut and journaling block from my stash, and misc. ribbon/metal accessories from my stash.
