New Layout - Happy Birthday

Happy Scrappy Weekend to you all! I'm sharing a layout of DD's 5th birthday. We had a climbing party, but after all the party go-ers were gone, she opened her presents.

I used a page kit from Embellish It!. The only thing I added was a journaling block from CTMH.  I hope you are having a super productive weekend.  :)

New Layout - Uniquely You

Happy Friday! I'm yet again super excited for the weekend! We have family in town, but I am still hoping to squeeze in a bit of scrapping. I'm sharing a layout I completed of hubby and DD sharing her love of dentistry with a fun play dough gift. I played along with CSI Case File No. 288

I was inspired by the colors: teal, brown, white, orange and pink - the pink is a bit hard to see, it is in the striped paper and in the triangle paper. I also followed the "traditional clues" and used evidence of stripes in the patterned paper, triangles in the patterned paper, circular elements in the brads and arrow, I used the windows of the frames to add photos, tied bows with twine, and added numbers for the date. I also hand wrote my journaling and used the inspiration word "Great".

Here's the Case File:

I used a paper kit from Embellish It! and added rub-ons from Crate Paper. Stop by CSI and play along! Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful weekend!

New Layout - Put Your Party Hat On

Is it Friday yet? Uggg, what a week and it's only Tuesday! I finished up a layout this evening for a party I threw for a co-worker that returned to us after a traumatic brain injury. She hit some ice on her return trip from Nebraska to Texas after Christmas in 2015 and crossed the line hitting a semi-truck. She was out for about 3 months while she recovered. She returned to us, but had a long recovery road ahead.

I used a paper kit from Embellish It! and added a journaling tag from Basic Grey and ink/stamps from CTMH.  Thanks so much for visiting!

New Layout - DCT

Happy Sunday! Glad you stopped by. I'm sharing a layout I completed of the Dallas Children's Theater production of Hansel and Gretel. For the left side, I used sketch #180 from Sketch N Scrap. I expanded on the sketch with my own design for the right hand side.

Here is the sketch:

I used paper from SEI, Bo Bunny, and MME. The journaling blocks are from Colorbok and Basic Grey and sticker embellishments from Jolee's.

Thanks again for visiting!

New Layout - Game Day

Happy Sunday! We have a big day planned, but I wanted to pop by and share the last layout I finished last night. This is another soccer layout from when DD was 5.

Have a wonderful remainder of your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

New Layout - Bluebonnets

One more layout to share today. This ones using really old photos from Maddie's 2nd season playing soccer at just 5 years. I used the Scraproom Blog - July JumpStart Sketch Challenge for the left side. The right side is my own creation.

I used papers and journaling block from Scrapbook Customs, the title diecut from Paper Wizard, stamps and ink from CTMH, stickers from Park Lane, and the arrow and date tag from Cocoa Daisy.

Thanks so much for visiting my little blog!

New Layout - Hello Summer

I'm here again today to share another layout - yes I've been scrapping all day! This is a layout of our wonderful neighborhood and all the friends Maddie has to play with. I played along, yet again, with Paper Issues - Sunny Summer Time. This one is just too easy not to keep completing summer layouts. I don't know about you, but I have a ton of summer layouts to complete.

I used a page kit from Embellish IT! I added journaling stamps/ink from CTMH, and arrows from Eyelet outlet.

Thanks for visiting again!

New Layout - Splash of Summer

Stopping in to share a fun summer layout I did of DD and my niece and nephew in the pool. I played along with Paper Issues - Sunny Summer Time

I used a huge sun and the hot hot pool days of Summer in Dallas.  For the left side, I used the Sketch N Scrap #181 sketch. It worked perfect with my photos. Here is the sketch:

I used a paper kit from Scrapbook Funaddicts for the cute paper die ducky and the sunny title. I added a journaling block from Recollections, and misc. ribbon from my stash.  I hope you are having a wonderfully scrappy weekend!  I hope to be back to post another layout soon.

Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Happy Birthday

It's Friday! I'm sooooo ready for the weekend, and definitely ready to scrap! I finished a quick little layout of a birthday party for one of the neighbor girls. It was at a bounce place...perfect for 20+ four year olds. I played along with Paper Issues - Top Chef challenge. This challenge is to use food. I couldn't resist this 4 year old photo of Willa with her mouth full of cupcake! How much cuter can you get?

To create, I used a paper kit from Simply Stitched Scrapbooking and added an arrow from Eyelet Outlet, letters from Thickers, Basic Grey and Authentique, and a journaling block from my recent happy mail from Cocoa Daisy!

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderfully creative weekend - I plan to!

New Layout - Enjoy Life

Happy Hump Day to all my scrappy friends! I've been playing this evening and finished this layout of DD with her Nana and cousins. They are so cute together.

I played along with Paper Issues - This and That for July. I used the following:
* the color gold - gold hearts
* 2 photos

* The word SWEET
* Hearts
* Staples
* Splatters

Here is the This or That list, if you'd like to play along:

I used a paper kit from Paper Loft and added Emphemera from Fancy Pants, gold hearts from CTMH, and crayolas from Jolee's boutique.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a wonderful end to your week!

New Layout - Play, Laugh, Grow

Hello again my scrappy friends! One more layout to share today. This one is another layout from the Perot Natural History Museum - one of my daughter's most favorite places to visit.

I played along with a couple of challenges. First, the left side used Let's Get Sketchy July challenge. This challenge was to use the sketch and inspiration from the mood board. I rotated the sketch and pulled inspiration from the colors - blue, gold, pink, navy, the sparklers for which I used gold glitter embellishments, and even the water via the water table photos. Here is the sketch and the mood board so you can come play along!

I also played along with Paper Issues - Ring Tone challenge. I used both a photo with an old fashioned corded telephone as well as a typewriter stamp for my "story." This one was difficult for me for some reason.

I used a paper kit from Embellish IT! Inc. and then added stamps and ink from CTMH, and rub-ons from Crate Paper.  Thanks for visiting again today!

New Layout - Dentist

Happy Monday! I'm not fully recovered, so I took a PTO day today and scrapped. What a wonderful way to spend the day. I finished this layout of my DD visiting the dentist. She absolutely LOVES the dentist. She is completely enthralled with the equipment, drills, and x-rays. They x-ray'd her teeth, cleaned them, and even flossed them. Dr. Janelle Bicknell is the best. She answered all her questions, gave her 3 sets of gloves, a mask, and multiple treasures from the "treasure chest". The mask and gloves were her favorite. She had decided she wants to be a dentist.

I played along with a couple of challenges. First, CSI case file No. 290. I was inspired by the color scheme. I also used a lot of really old stash. Anyone remember the "Brad Buddies?" Yep, that arrow is a brad buddie. I also used a really old CTMH stamp set for the month, date, and heart. I used an old Basic Grey journaling pad and old brads. Finally, I added old Queen & Co. silver pearls.

For the left side, I used sketch #380 from Sketches in Thyme. It worked perfect for my layout.

The paper and dentist embellishments were new from scrabookcustoms.com, the occupation line. I just bought this at convention and love it!  Thanks so much for visiting. Stop by again soon.

New Layout - Kick This

Happy Sunday! I didn't get much scrapping done this weekend, but I did finish this soccer layout of DD. Yes, another soccer layout. I played along with Paper Issues - Adspiration. I was inspired by the geometrical square multiples and the layering. I used the geometric shape hexagons and layered a large hexagon shaped soccer ball over hexagon patterned paper and photos.

Here is the ad, come play along!

I used a Treasure Box paper kit with a stitched soccer field and I added Studio Calico flag clips and a CTMH journaling block. I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week. I'm not so sure I am!  :)

Thanks for visiting!

I'm Under Surveillance at CSI!

I'm so excited! My 4th of July Layout was tagged at CSI.  Check it out HERE.

No photo description available.

New Layout - Fears Tears and Pretty Ears

Happy Friday! I am soooo ready for the weekend, this week seemed to be especially stressful for some reason. I'm excited to scrap! I'm also excited to share a layout I FINALLY completed of dear daughter getting her ears pierced at 6 months old, over 7 years ago. I asked her pediatrician about pierced ears and she  said sooner rather than later was better. At 6 months, she wasn't yet able to pull on them and get them infected. I immediately decided to let the pediatrician pierce her ears and have NEVER regretted it. Maddie loves her earrings and we had no issues with infections or problems. I've been wanting to get these photos scrapped for a long time!

For the right page of my 2-page layout, I played along with TSR (The Scrap Room) July Freaky Fast Friday formula. The challenge is to choose a 12x12 piece of paper and then cut (5) pieces of specific sizes of other paper and then move them around until you like the design. I used really old CTMH coordinating papers. I used all (5) pieces and then added the white large journaling tag from CTMH. I originally started with a paper kit from Lickety Split Scrapbooks, but it was missing the purple pieces and I didn't like the background paper. I modified it quite a bit to find a design I liked that worked with my photos. I added really old rub-ons from 7 Gypsies and DaisyD's; a tab from Illustrating Faith, and hair bows from Queen & Co.

Here is the formula:

I also played along with Paper Issues Pinspire Me. This challenge is to use the pinterst image to inspire your layout. I was inspired by the red cherries. I used polka dot paper and red colors. I was also inspired by the center image "gold is the new black", as her earrings are gold and that inspired me to use these photos for my layout. Finally, I was inspired by the strings of lights to use twine from the Twinery to tie around my photos.  Come play along!

Here is the pinspire:

Thanks so much for visiting! Have a wonderful weekend!

New Layout - Discover

Happy Hump Day! This week seems to be flying by, soon summer will be over. I'm sharing a layout today of my best friend visiting with her daughter (who just happens to be my daughters best friend)! We took them to the Perot Natural History Museum here in Dallas. They loved it!

I played along with the More than Words July Challenge - Discover & Old Stash. What a super fun challenge, come play along! The word "discover" made me immediately think of exploring the museum; so I used the word as my title - front and center! I used all sorts of old stash, including rub-ons from TLC and 7Gypsies, tags from Illustrates Faith, a huge arrow from Scenic Route, and mini alphas from Authentique.

I also played along with LM (Lasting Memories) #454 - Red, White and Blue. Red, white and blue are the main colors in my layout with pops of yellow. I challenge you to come play along!

The paper and layout is from CTMH. I loved the science themed kit! I'm not sure you can see it in the photo, but the blue background paper is actually planets.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful end of the week.

New Layout - A Day at the Aquarium

Happy Sunday Yall! Are you ready for Monday? I'm sure not! I've been working on a layout of DD at the aquarium with the stingrays. She was too scared to feed them, but loved touching them as they glided through the water.

I played along with Paper Issues Challenge "IT's a Banner Day." I used a banner that spells out "FISH" and added twine.

For this layout I used a kit from Crop-A-Latte and added twine from the Twinery, a journaling block and tags from my stash. I also added a die cut stingray and a couple of jolee's sea turtles.

Thanks for stopping by today! I love visitors.  Have wonderful rest of your weekend!

New Layout - Sleep Over

Happy Saturday! I hope you are having a fantastic weekend! I'm sharing a layout I completed of my niece and nephew joining us for a sleep over. I played along with Scrap Our Stash - July Saturday Cartoon Sketch challenge. I was inspired by the cartoon as my layout was about kids watching TV, just like Saturday mornings! I rotated the sketch and added a couple more photos. I used two arrows.

Everything on this page was random stuff from my stash. The stickers were Me & My Big Idea, paint was Craft Essentials, arrows were CTMH, and journaling tag was Making Memories.

Thanks for visiting my scrappy blog! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

New Layout - School Teacher

Are you ready for the weekend scrappy friends? I am! I am sharing a layout I created for my DD last day of preschool 3's class back in 2016.

I played along with TSR (The ScrapRoom) July color challenge. These colors screamed school to me for some reason and I found the perfect accessories to add.

I used paper from Scrapbook Customs, embellishments from K&Company and bling from want 2 scrap. I used a random die-cut I found in my stash and ink/stamps from CTMH.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic weekend!

New Layout - Happy 4th

Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful 4th! I spent the day being scrappy, so I am super happy. I finished a layout from 4th of July last year at my sisters.  I played along with a couple of fun challenges. The first is Lasting Memories #453 Patriotism, use predominately red and white on a layout. I met the challenge, but there is a bit of blue worked in for the Patriotism piece.

I also played along with CSI Case File No. 289. The colors inspired me to create a patriotic layout with red, white and blues. I see flags in the photo, on the sailboat, the wall and even the boat. I also framed my photos similar to the framing of the windows and doors. I used stripes and stars, I documented the 4th of July, I tied up my journaling, and used the July writing prompt: Who did you eat dinner with.

I used a page kit/die cuts from Paper Wizard - love them! I added twine from The Twinery, journaling blocks and bling from my stash, and stamps/ink from CTMH.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend and thanks for stopping by!

New Layout - Swimming Taking the Plunge

To all my crafty friends out there, I have one more post for today - a new layout of DD at swim lessons a couple of years ago. There is a great swim teacher in our neighborhood and Maddie's swimming skills improved tremendously.

I played along with a couple of scrappy challenges for this layout. The first is the TSR (The Scrap Room) Stash Challenge, to use a stash item on your layout for each letter in the word SPARKLE. I used:
S - Striped Patterned Paper
P - Polka Dots and Photos
A - Arrows
R - Rows of Words
K - Knots
L - Layers
E - Enamel Dots

I also played along with The Studio Challenges June Tic Tac Toe board.  I used Mini Alphas, Blue and Enamel Dots.

I used a page kit from Paper Issues and then added twine with knots from the Twinery, arrows from Heidi Swapp, mini alphas from JoAnns Craft Essentials and Authentique, enamel dots, ink, and jounaling note from CTMH. Come play along with these fun challenges!

Thanks for visiting!

New Layout - Tree Swing

Happy FIRECRACKERS! I'm posting for the second time today with another new layout. This one is of my adorable daughter and two nieces together on a tree swing. I used a new die cut kit from Paper Wizard, PERFECT for my pics. I added stamping, journaling and little tags for their names.

I played along with Paper Issues for their Summer Days challenge. I'm so excited to be completing so many pages lately. I hope to keep the momentum going for a bit longer.

Have a happy day! Thanks for visiting.

New Layout - At the Parade

Happy 4th of July! I hope you have fun celebrations planned. I want to share a new layout I completed from our 4th of July parade and carnival in 2016. My daughter's first experience watching a parade, and of course, trying to catch as much candy as possible being thrown from the floats. During the carnival, she requested a pink tiger from the face painter and a pink snake from the balloon man. She's so silly, but thoroughly enjoyed everything!

There are a ton of great challenges out for the month of July, so I played along with a couple. First, I was inspired by Scrap with Stacy's Photo Inspiration Challenge. I obviously was inspired by the colors (red, white and blue) as well as the feeling of celebration. Here is the photo, join up and be inspired!

Next, is Paper Girls Challenge #179 Fireworks! What is a layout about the 4th of July without fireworks? I used a kit from Simply Stitched that included all the fun firework stickers.

Finally, one of the July Paper Issues challenges is "Stars and Stripes". How fitting for this month and my layout; I have stars, stripes, and of course red, white and blue! This layout is busier than I typically prefer, but it definitely screams patriotism! I love this country and all who keep us safe!

Have a wonderful 4th and enjoy with family and friends! Thanks so much for visiting!

New Layout - Spring 2018 School Photos

Happy Monday all my scrappy friends! I finished up this layout today with Maddie's fall photos from last year. Her school does a "When I grow up....." photo session every year in which they write what each wants to be when they grow up. This year Maddie selected Paleontologist, not bad for a 1st grader! I goofed and used the Spring rub-on when in fact this is her fall photo, but oh well, too late. Does anyone know a good way to remove rub-ons from a photo?

For this page I used a kit from The Treasure Box and added the rub-ons, chalkboard sign, and 1st grade die-cut from my stash. I really hope to play along with all the fun July challenges I'm seeing posted around the web.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for visiting!
