New Layout - Day at the Zoo

Happy Saturday!

I went on a 10 mile bike ride this morning and then an hour later, my 8 year old begged me to go out on a ride with her. We went another mile! Then, I scrapped the rest of the day. This is the only layout I completed. Although I'm scrapping more than ever, I seem to be taking longer on every layout I do. Anyone out there feeling that way?

This layout used photos from 2013 and our day at the Dallas Zoo. Maddie loves the carousel and thoroughly enjoys feeding the giraffes.

I played along with a couple of fun challenges. First, I solved the CSI Case File No. 323. Here is the case:

To solve the case I used lots of really old Teresa Collins stash. For my product clues I used older papers that match the peach and teal blues in the scene, I used papers with muted colors, older striped paper for the background, ornate decorations with the photo chipboard and carousel, border punches, carnival themed elements with the carousel, and jewels. For my design clues I included layered decorative borders and edges, ornate bits and pieces, circles and lines, a bigt cut file (the carousel) and movement with the circles. I was trying to relay the feeling of "round and round" similar to a carousel. The ornate bits and pieces came from super fun Scrapmatts that I received as a prize pack from CSI (thanks again!).

I also played along with Paper Issues - Alphabet Soup - 26 days of Alphabet inspired challenges. J is for Jewels

For this page I used mainly all Teresa Collins product - papers, stickers, alphabets, borders, banners, twine, and journaling block. I used zoo stickers from Jolees, a carousel cut from my Cricut, misc. jewels/gems from my stash, and chipboard from Scrapmatts.

Thank you for visiting!
