Welcome to Project Life 2014! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 3 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.
I am using the digital kit on shutterfly. This digital version is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE. I will hopefully be posting my 2013 pages soon.
And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -
Friday - Mrs. Siobhan came by to give Maddie a little Christmas present - a bead/necklace kit. She loved it and immediately made two necklaces. She really loves Siobhan, of course - so do we!
Saturday - We went to the Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium today. It was pretty decent for being in a mall. There was quite a bit to see, including multiple touching pools and even a little climbing area for the kids. Maddie loves Aquariums and loved this one too.
Monday - Letter to Maddie
I'm sitting here watching you play in the bath. You are growing so fast, no longer needing me to support you in the tub or keeping you from sliding under the water. Now you dunk your head and blow bubbles at me. I'm watching you narrate your own story with your pirate friends. They too are getting baths and showers - getting all soaped up. I wish I could freeze time right this instant, keep you as my beautiful and innocent 3 year old. "I love you, Mama." is a daily occurrence that fills my heart every time you utter the words. You are learning so much and questioning everything. I love watching you grow, but it is a bitter happiness knowing that this moment will soon be gone forever. More moments will come, but today...this is the one I want to remember.
Project Life - 2014 is complete! Now - I just need to get it in an album! :)

Friday - Today is Christmas Eve. Grandma came over to bring Maddie her Christmas present - a drum set. She was so excited and played it non-stop for about an hour. This evening we went to Nana's to celebrate with her, Vanessa, Ashlyn and Jakob. Nana got all the kids scooters and helmets. They were super excited. The kids had a blast opening their presents and playing together. Mom had all kinds of yummy stuff to eat. It was a lovely evening.
Thursday - Christmas morning. Maddie was super excited to see the bicycle that Santa brought her and her Buzz light year. It took her hours to open all the presents because she wanted to open and play with everything she unwrapped. She loved everything she got, even the clothes and sweatshirts. She was so thankful for everything saying, "thank you, thank you Mommy - it is just what I wanted!" I gave Juan a new grille and a John Deer hat. He gave me a Coach purse, a necklace, and a phone charger. Maddie was so excited to ride her bike that we had to go out as soon as we were done opening presents. She rode her bike and her scooter. This afternoon we played outside while Daddy put together his grill. Maddie had a blast using the box as her "house." Adam came over this afternoon and brought Maddie walkie talkies. Then Adam, Tiffany and Maddie played with her new play dough together.
