Happy Sunday! After church, lunch, and shopping for new clothes for Maddie; I finally have a second to post the layout I finished last night (yes, it's nap time...LOL). This is a layout of Maddie the first time we entered our NEW house in May of 2012. She looked so small in our big living room and I was instantly struck by future visions of her running and playing in our new home. This layout is to document that moment. It is LOAD (Lay Out A Day) #21 over at Let's Scrap.
For this layout I played along with the sketch from the January C'est Magnifique sketch. The sketch instantly reminded me of a homey, warmth feel and I that was just what I wanted my page to be.
Materials used: paper - Bo Bunny; layered chipboard - Bo Bunny; keys - Tim Holtz; ribbon - Jim Holtz and Maya Roads; paste - Studio 490; stickers - Colorbok; washi tape - MME, Tim Holtz; quickutz - Journal; paper tape - CTMH; metal hangers - CTMH; mini alphas - Basic Grey; ink - CTMH; mist - Maya Road & Mister Huey; stencil - studio 490; border punch - Fiskars.
Thanks for visiting!

I also played along with Scrap Africa Challenge #25, use at least one recycled item. I am a sucker for all the fabulous packaging that is accompanying the wonderful trinkets of scrapbooking! I used the cardboard packaging from a Bo Bunny layered chipboard and misted/inked it to be the background behind my keys. I also used both the jute and the tag from a washi tape I had. I flipped the "paper tape" tag inside out, misted it, drug paper towels across the ink and used it for my key tag at the top.
A similar challenge over at LESSology - challenge 32 was to upcycle at least one item and incorporate a key. I have had these keys forever and was waiting for just the right page to use them. What could be more perfect than a layout of a new HOME?
Finally, I played along with My Scraps & More - Word up Wednesday 1-8-14 to use the word SLEEP. "Sleep Tight" was the perfect sub-title to my Welcome Home chipboard at the top.
Here are a couple of closeup photos:
