Welcome to Project Life 2013! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 1 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.
I am using the digital kit on shutterfly (hopefully Olive once it has been released), find more info at http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog. This digital version uses Shutterfly and is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE.
And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week):
Sunday - We spent the day at the Dallas Zoo. We decided to rent a wagon as Maddie refuses to sit in the stroller any longer. It worked wonderfully! She just hopped in and out as she felt like it. It let her rest a bit, but also gave her easy access to jump out when she wanted. We could also push her up to the fence and she could stand on the seat and usually see perfectly. Daddy showed Maddie how to climb on the rocks and jump from one to another. At first Maddie said no, she didn't want to climb up with Daddy....soon she got her nerves up and off they went, up and down the rocks. We ended our visit at the river in the Children's area. Maddie had a blast and cried when we told her it was time to go home. She was really good at watching out for the smaller kids, but not so great at avoiding the bigger kids, who really should have been looking out for her. It was a hot Texas day, so the water felt great.

Monday - Maddie has decided that the shower mat in our bathroom tickles when she rolls around on it, so it is her new favorite spot. She is talking in complete sentances, "Give me hand, Daddy," "Get up Daddy," "Maddie have some too," "Mommy one, Daddy one, and Maddie one." She is also completely obsessed with watching Dora the Explorer. 98% of the time that is what she wants to watch. She says "Map," "Backpack," "Swiper no Swiping," etc. Daddy brought Mommy flowers to celebrate the 8th year anniversary of their first date. Daddy also finished Maddie's Sesame Street sign for her birthday and continued to work on other items for the party.

Saturday - We spent the morning at Nana's while she fitted and sewed Maddie's birthday Elmo dress. Maddie was quite impressed with Nana's sewing machine and desperately wanted to touch all the buttons. This afternoon Maddie and Mommy headed to Plano to celebrate Ryan's 4th Birthday at the Don Rodenbaugh Nadatorium. Maddie loved all the water play and didn't want to leave. It was packed.
