Project Life - Week 11

Welcome to Project Life 2014! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to 2 year old Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital kit on shutterfly. This digital version is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 using the Shutterfly Cobalt kit HERE. I will hopefully be posting my 2013 pages soon.

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Wednesday - Off again, travelling for work. Today it is Oklahoma City for the Integris projects. Thankfully it is just a day trip, but a very early morning.

Thursday - Maddie loves picnics right now. I ordered her this shark towel and she immediately asked to use it for a picnic. Who could resist that request? Pretty soon she was chowing down on her own personal picnic. Tonight Juan and I went to the Elton John concert at the American Airlines Center. We were invited to the box with Cummings Electric since I will be working with them on the Medical City Project. It was a good time, but Juan wanted to leave before it was over and I really wanted to hear the song from Lion King, so I was disappointed.

Friday - Maddie loves being outside, regardless of the weather. She was quite content just to lay in the grass for about 3 minutes, lol!

Saturday - Today Maddie and I went to Kaitlyn's 5th birthday party at the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium in Allen. This was the first time Maddie wore her new swimsuit, a 4T. It's already almost too small. She loves the water and had a ball.

Sunday -  Nana, Aunt Vanessa, Jakob and Ashlyn came to visit today. The kiddos had a great time playing together. All three of them played play dough for about an hour and never once fought or argued. It was quite amazing to watch. We also got Maddie's Easter photos taken today and ordered Easter cards to send to friends and family. My little girl is growing up too fast.

Tuesday - Maddie can ride her tricycle around our entire block. It is quite impressive as there is a pretty steep incline up to the top of our block. She usually gets tired about 3/4 of the way and wants me to carry her tricycle.  No way is my response.

Maddie's sayings right now:

"What's goin on here guys?"

"We forgot to pray."
"How did Maddie do that?"
"Silly Maddie, silly Daddy, silly Mama"

"I want an orange"
"Wanna watch Dora?"
"Where'd Daddy go?
"I need my flashlight"
"Oooopie heheeehee"

"Go bye bye"
"What's that sound?"
"Poor doggies, they're cold - brrrrrrrrrrr"
"Amen, we eat!"
"Do you want to play with me?"
"Do you hear that mama?"
"Whatcha got for me in there?"
"Thank you Mommy, thank you!"

"Bless you"
"De nada"

"I can help you? I need my stool."

Project Life - Week 10

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Thursday - Smoothie time, once again. My little helper's favorite thing to make.

Friday - Tastados for dinner! Maria helps me by making diner once or twice a week. Tonight it was tostados and they were yummy.

Saturday - Mama needed her nails done. I took a couple hours and got a mani/pedi and wax while Maddie and Daddy hung out together at home. When I arrived home, they were "studying"; Juan was studying for his Architecture test and Maddie was "studying" with a marker on his old study materials. She loves to pretend with Daddy.

Sunday - Another full weekend. Maddie refused to nap this afternoon and soon fell asleep watching a movie early this evening.

Monday - We took Maddie to the Coffee Park at Northwest Highway. She had a blast. We had to drag her away when it was time to leave. She played with EVERYTHING and climbed everything there was. I love how independent and explorative she is. She is so eager to explore the world around her.

Tuesday - Nana came over to visit this afternoon. We went to the playground and then to have Ice Cream at the yogurt shop - Yumilicious. Maddie ate an entire bowl of ice cream and fruit. Then we went back to the house and played puppets for awhile in Maddie's playroom. She loves her Nana so much!

And finally, my POTW (pictures of the week) -

Thursday -  Maddie missed her Valentine's Day party on Tuesday because she was sick. She got to take her Valentine's and snack mix today and give to her class. She loves the tree in the courtyard at her school. Apparently she tries to climb it too.

Friday - Maddie and Daddy together at the Moss Haven Elementary playground. The garden and chicken coup is in the background. This is our regular Friday afternoon hangout.

Saturday - Another kids project day at Home Depot. Today they made a horse bank. She was very excited to get home and put coins in it. Not as excited as she was for the popcorn and punch.

Sunday -  We ran errands today. One was to Bed, Bath and Beyond in which Maddie had a ball trying out every bed. Then we stopped and picked her up some Tinker Toys. She loves them and built things all afternoon.

Tuesday - When I arrived home from work today, Maddie wanted to play "stinker toys." She is definitely going to be either an engineer or an architect, but I'm not sure which.
