We were invited to a couple of Halloween parties this evening. I really wanted us to go as part of a "couples" costume. Juan came up with the idea to be a camera and I could be the butterfly he was taking a photo of. If you know my husband, you know his obsession with all nature related macro photography, flowers, bugs, bees, butterflies, etc.
Juan actually built his own camera costume today and it turned out to be a hit. He even put a photo of me dressed as the butterfly on the screen image at the back. I will say it was hard for him to move around and eat or drink anything....quite amusing.
I began this blog to document my POTD (picture of the day) for our Project Life album in 2010. In Sept. 2011 I had our first baby and I plan for her to have the most documented life possible. I have continued each year with Project Life, but also have expanded my blog to include layouts and other creations. Life has gotten busy, so I don't post as often as I used to, but am still determined to try. I would love to have you join me on our journey! Thank you for visiting!

10.29.10 Boo Bash at ccrd
We dress up every year in our office and have a little Halloween Boo Bash at the end of the day. There is a costume parade in the morning and everyone goes to lunch together in their costumes. Here is all of us together. Can you see me? I'm the butterfly in the front.

10.28.10 Annual Pumpkin Carving
Every year we carve pumpkins with my family. Tonight Mom, Vanessa and I carved pumpkins while Juan helped Jakob create....well something.....sort of a Mr. Pumpkin Head. He definitely kept him entertained though.
And a couple more I just love:

10.27.10 Pumpin Carving Contest
Every year P+W, Juan's office, has a pumpkin carving contest. He always wants to enter, but never gets his pumpkin carved in time. This year he found a dried gourd at the Farmer's Market and decided to enter. His is not so much a carving as a creation. He did win 2nd place, although there were only 3 entries. He is so creative, but sometimes in a very wierd way. LOL

10.26.10 Hay Decorations
I know it's a little late, but I finally made the little display I wanted to for fall in our living room. We got the little turkey fixings at the Arboretum and Mom bought us the Scare Crow. Yes, hay in the living room does make things rather messy, but it is soooo cute!
My POTD has to be horizontal, so this photo leaves out the scare crow; so for your viewing pleasure:

10.25.10 Pumpkin Patch
Juan and I finally went to pick our pumpkins for pumpkin carving. We went to the Farmer's Market downtown. I think we ended up with more gourds than pumpkins, but it was still fun.

10.24.10 Zoo Contest Reception
The Dallas Zoo threw a reception for all of the photography contest winners today. We could bring guests so Mom, Alfonso, Maria, Marco and Isabella all joined us. We were surprised and super excited to learn there were prizes with our awards. I won a $150 gift certificate to the Camera Stop and Juan won a Canon G11 camera plus this 30x48 professional print of his photo! That's so awesome!

Birthday Bash Challenge #1
If you follow my blog, you know that Scrapbook Challenges is having a great birthday bash to celebrate their 1yr birthday on {Ning}. This is my layout for the birthday bash challenge #1. This challenge was to create a birthday layout, but not just any birthday layout. For this challenge you have to make a birthday layout without using any birthday themed papers or embellishments!
I made a layout for my friend, Doug's, 30th birthday using an embellish.it kit. Come over an join the fun!
Here are a couple of detail shots of the flowers. To make, tear 3 circles in different sizes. Then crumple & fold over the edges with your fingers and glue together. Add a button for the flower center and rick-rack for the stem. Use similar process for leaves.

Here are a couple of close-ups:
This LO was very different from my usual style; but it was fun to be outside my box. I am also very excited that I used a bunch of really old items from my stash., including the frames, word accents and flowers. I used a Martha Stewart bordre punch and rick-rack. I have noticed that I use a lot of baby rick-rack. I just love the finished look it gives.
Thank you so much for visiting, I love visitors!

Sketch #224 Challenge Layout
I finished yet another layout this evening while skypebooking with my friend Angie, who lives in Tulsa. Thanks to her help and another great sketch challenge from over at Scrapbook Challenges, I have another LO checked off my list. This one is about our trip to the Ft. Worth Zoo with our niece and nephew. For some reason I really struggled with this one, but I do like it better than the Spider Man layout I posted yesterday, LOL. Thanks for visiting!

Sketch #223 Challenge Layout
I completed a layout yesterday from one of the amazing sketches over at Scrapbook Challenges. I'm not real excited about how my page turned out though. I feel like it's missing something. What do you think?
Here is the sketch:
This is a layout I created to document our nephew, Aram's, obsession with all things Spider Man. He was so excited when he learned there was an Arachnitopia exhibit at the Fort Worth Zoo.

10.23.10 Splish Splash
The rain ruined our plans of pumpkin picking today, so Juan and Jakob decided to play in the rain. They had a ball splashing in the puddles and running from one to the next. Jakob's screams of delight could be heard throughout the neighborhood. They were so cute together.

10.22.10 Wine & Cheese Evening
Central Market is having a Hail to the Cheese event. They are featuring over 500 cheeses foreign and domestic. Mom and I were all excited to taste cheese and were very dissapointed that the tasting was over for the day. We bought about eight different cheeses, bread, olives, crackers and grapes and had our own little tasting with vino. It was a really fun evening.

10.21.10 Up in the Air, Again
Yes, I am traveling again today. I flew Continental into Houston, Intercontinental and then flew back out of Hobby in order to visit two different job sits and make two different OAC meetings. Up at 4am to catch the 6am flight and didn't make it home until after 7pm. I spent most of the day with this view, watching the runway.

10.20.10 Table Decorations
I finished our table decorations today, a little sparse; but ok until the crazy Christmas explosion! I tend to get a little out of control with the Christmas decorations.

10.19.10 More Fall
Added a little bit more Fall to our home today. I have four of these little pumpkins and stamps things I am thankful for, then added a bit of bling next to them.

10.18.10 Fall Decorations
I finally decided to decorate for Fall. I pretty much missed Halloween, so I stuck with fall/Thanksgiving items this year. Surprisingly enough, we don't really have a lot of fall decorations.

Last night was Denise and Kettering's wedding, Juan's friend/co-worker from P+W. It was a lovely little ceremony at the Texas Women's University campus.

10.16.10 Baby Shower
Today was my sister's baby shower, for her 2nd baby. She brought Jakob, so I got to play with the little cutie during the shower. Love this photo of Vanessa, Nana Becky (Mom), and Gran Debbie (Vanessa's mother-in-law).

Splashing in the Rain
We had planned to go pick out pumpkins at the Farmer's Market today with Mom and our nephew, Jakob; but the rain ruined those plans. So instead, Juan and Jakob decided it would be fun to play in the rain and splash in the puddles. Jakobs screams of delight could be heard throughout the neighborhood. It was hilarious!

Feathered Friends Layout
Here is a layout I did for our Fort Worth Zoo trip with our niece and nephew, Sole and Aram. We fed the parakeets and the kids had a ball. I used the Adventure stamp set from CTMH. This is a very simple layout, but I was in a simple kind of mood. LOL Thanks for visiting!
